I thought a big part of the appeal would be in figuring out what has to be done, and usually I'm all for working things out myself in games rather than looking for a guide or getting help from others. It's actually frustrating as fuck until you understand what's going on. There are plenty of situations in which a single person's fuck-up will cause everyone to die. It's worse than death actually; according to the narrative you are written out of the space-time continuum like you never existed. It's demoralising. And if you go in expecting that to happen less than 3-4 times... There's gonna be some thrown controllers. As soon as one person bails, the part the team couldn't get past goes from difficult to insurmountable.

This is a pretty good guide, though there's been an update since it was written that alters the final boss fight a bit. You'd really have to persevere to get that far on your first attempt though if nobody on the fireteam has any experience.

Recommend going Voidwalker on any Warlocks on the team- Void damage can be very handy in the vault, it's nice having it on your grenades and Super. I found it helpful to tweak my build depending on the situation, some areas call for Agility, others Armour/Recovery. Because of the way the scaling works, there's a really noticeable difference between being level 26 and 27 in the raid. At level 27 it feels like you're competent, and actively contributing to the groups success. At level 26 you deal about 50% less damage to most of the enemies, you're kind of pushing shit uphill if you don't have higher-level Guardians carrying you.

Yeh you think you can go into it and just work it out, it ain't that simple... As Gamma said you need all 6 players on board, communicating, and you need a plan... Even the first part you need to break up into 3 teams, and you'll need everyone to have the right weapons with void damage and heavy weapon ammo packs...and if you do alright you might move on 20 minutes later.

There is a bit where you need to all move from point to point without being seen, without a guide this bit would be a massive game of trial and error, that bit could take hours.

Then you have the oracles, and the cleansing... I won't go into it but it's a head fuck, it's bullshit hard with an experienced team, a team of newbies wouldn't stand a chance, I'm not exaggerating.

If you don't know what you're doing your whole team is dead, it's that simple.

I promise you, you underestimate the raid... It'd would take a committed team a long time, many sessions to figure it out.

Check a tutorial man, you need to.

So was I, but you don't get much opportunity to use it. You know when you're playing a difficult Strike, everyone's killed then you resurrect, revive your team and save the day? That's not going to happen. It's hard to explain without spoilers, but there are times where you really appreciate that Void damage.

I tend to do all but a couple of the available bounties when I play, and where I can I'll time my session so they reset mid-session. It's a cheeky way to knock over all of the dailies while only playing four times a week. I won't be able to keep that up with one free bounty slot though, and at the moment I can't play it that often anyway.

I reckon if it is a 1/50 chance of getting an exotic bounty I've still had a lucky run. The best part is by meeting the requirements for Depleted Hand Cannon, I'll likely have completed the Crucible components of two of the other three as well. Not to say it'll be easy for a PvP retard like myself, but this is about as efficient as it gets. I'm finding the fusion rifle one is pretty difficult to solo at level 27, but I'll keep chippin' away at it. It forces you to approach the firefights in a completely different way, which I like.

7 raids in and i finally got 2 raid armor for the titan, tho out of the last 4 raids i got atheons epilogue twice, corrective measures heavymachine gun and visions of confluence. 3 characters at nearly 29 again, warlock 29 , hunter 29 , titan 28

Ahhh Cletus, don't hate. Destiny does things Halo doesn't come close to. Destiny is a much easier game to just pick up and play when you're tired and not looking for much commitment. Destiny, for me, is far more of a social game than Halo. I'm not done with Destiny, I don't think I will be done with Destiny for much of this gen. But then there are other areas where Halo does things Destiny doesn't do either. I'm happy for the two to live side by side. I do have my doubts Halo 5 will be as good as Destiny.

One thing I will say is Destiny's PvP can't touch Halo. Goddamn, Halo MP was so much fun last night.
