It's another untitled Halo game that's not Halo 3 or the RTS game.

I can't believe that out of all these brilliant titles shown, I am most interested in getting DOOM. I think I will wait a bit to stop an impulse purchase but will most likely end up with it.
BTW, how does every thread here turn the same way? We are getting HD-DVD, new games, sequels that look great and multiplayer like never seen before. What is there to argue about!?

Today is awesome news day.
Alan Wake is hot, Assasin's Creed is PoP team back in form, Doom on XBLA with online co-op (!), TWO new Halo games on top of Halo 3 in the works, Shadowrun is actually looking playable, Splinter Cell is now essentially locked to 360 and Live (as it's best been served so far) and Sensi is on XBLA too. Fucking hell, awesome news. This was way more than I was hoping to hear.

If Bluray fails PS3 users and devs will enjoy the benefits of superior media regardless. As for Sony using Playstation to proliferate Bluray, so what? MS are using XBox to proliferate XNA and ultimately Windows. We've been over this so many times now. Anyone with a shred of brain can see the two megacorps balance each other out in the alterior motive stakes. If anything MS are far more shameless as their buying into this industry is purely reactive, born from what they deem is necessary to preserve their software monopoly and hence losing volumes of cash only they can afford to lose, rather than a considered foray into videogames with a view to making money from it.

sculli is right with respect to halo wars - if it doesn't fit with established canon, don't make it happen
and pep is right with the "ms are in this ultimately to further their windows monopoly - xna and all" - only they can afford to lose this much money (an entire generation of loss making machines! only at microsoft!) in order to push their platform
what's worse is that they really look like the only option for a real console this gen
no the wii is not a real console, i am the first to admit that
