8700k is a panic release, I only got my 7700 early this year and intel shafted me. Not surprised to see no supply.

Spend the money on a XOX, much better value. :)

Ubisoft claims it runs on PC poorly for other reasons.
The game runs poorly for other reasons, specifically their lack of investment for the PC version during engine development. Anvil Next engine has been rewritten with a bindless model for shaders but their DX12 renderer that goes hand in hand with this tech is only ready on Xbox One. On PC this cannot be handled so they use an extra binding wrapper to communicate between D3D11 and their renderer, this was co developed by Intel and Ubisoft. This goes against what AMD and Nvidia recommends to developers, uses a lot of extra CPU power and render their cards' power useless in certain situations (e.g. city areas in Origins). http://developer2.download.nvidia.com/a ... _FINAL.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
So in summary, buy a XOX. :D

Can’t wait until this game gets fully cracked ( no denuvo/vmprotect) to see how it really runs.

It’s the best looking game out, no question. No other game has this amount of level detail pushed all the way to the horizon as this. Playing on PC maxed out is very taxing but the results on screen are more than worth it. It’s actually getting me thinking of an upgrade.

Bought into a keycap group buy on Massdrop - looking forward to setting it up on my Ducky Shine. Not shine through keycaps but should produce a nice underglow.

If Images are bogging down the page I will remove them on request.

Edit: removed images because they were taking too long to load each time I opened the thread.

Yes. It’s probably the best one to start with because they have improved many of the games mechanics.

The game is fucking beautiful!!!!! Love the setting.

One thing though - I'm not sure if the combat is BETTER than it used to be. What am I missing here?

Nah, mine were PNG and were hosted on abload which is kinda slow so I removed them.

Well it has certainly been improved. Have you played Syndicate or Unity? In Origins you can bring up your shield, lock on to an appointment, roll/dodge incoming attacks, as well as using your bow and arrow. It works better than the otter two games I mentioned, but it’s not perfect. Maybe you need to play a bit more until it clicks.

ACG has done a walk the walk on ACO in appreciation of it's scripted environments:
Still won't win GOTY of course. Zelda BOTW is superior. More variety in locations. Egypt is boring. Assassin can just hide in the sand by burying himself and ambush like the gyro captain in mad max2. No point sneaking when you have telepathic birds that can act as drones in the ancient times before robot planes. It's time these guys worked on a Predator game set on an alien world in the jungle surounded by alien monsters and animals with unique behaviors. Ubisoft seem to do best with expansions like FarCry Blood Dragon, which is less boring than thier realistic shit imo..Love the games as an open world and sandbox game fan but like COD it suffers from franchise fatigue..IE you know too much about the series that nothing is unpredictable anymore.

I'm a little bit wondering if the relatively low DPI matters, and very much wondering if the 6 "spikey" side buttons have bothered anyone. Or other general impressions. The web is a mix.
Arrrrrr I have exhumed this post to have a rant.
God damn I am sick of the battery life on this mouse. I could put it in 'economy' mode to make them last longer, but then I'd just be paying for a mouse that doesn't run like it should. This mouse is literally: weight, battery life, performance... choose two. My first pack of 24 AAs is almost depleted. It's good to use, but buyer's remorse on this one.

So after a while I went and got this:

Image

I paid $155, saw it online today for $129. I use it at work so it was totally worth it for me. Any review you read will be jizzing its pants and it's all legit. I love the wheel that just spins freely. You can have it ratchet or freely spin, and literally just for flying around webpages it is the best thing. I feel a little pained seeing other people not able to do this. I love that it's exactly the size and fit I prefer despite being an ambidextrous mouse. It makes you wonder why all mice aren't. 1ms response on a wireless mouse. Super light. Looks sweet.

But best of all, no battery crap. One charge lasts more than 24hours and the charging cable is a stock standard micro USB. And that cable is generously long too... it even includes a little adapter that happens to turn it into a USB extension cable for no relevant reason, so I use it for my phone instead heh. Ok getting off track but point is, the G900 was worth the money for me. No battery crap, yet wirelessly out-performs pretty much everything, with lots of button options. I have mousewheel left & right as volume controls. Super useful. Profiles saved to the mouse so it just works as you set it wherever you take it.

Blah blah blah, awesome mouse.

The G602 (the larger one above) would be a great mouse if it wasn't a case of "pick 2". As it is, I just know one day I'll simply be sick of buying batteries and that'll be it.
