Re: Elite Dangerous
I'll try fix the sticky grips on my x52 on the weekend but until then I'll try the 360 controller.
I also have a good ol' MS sidewinder ffb2 but the rubber on it has the same residue on it from being in storage for so long

Because they don't really need any more testers, just more money. That's how I understand it anyway.

Re: Elite Dangerous
Welcome to Beta land. DayZ Standalone has absolutely hammered me into submission now. If you spend money on a beta then you should expect to lose pretty much anything you work for randomly and generally for no apparent reason. You kind of pay to do the work for the devs. Regardless, in Elite Dangerous there is a ticketing system.
You can put one in here https://support.orerve.net/http/ticket/list" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and maybe they can retrieve your save. I would encourage you to do it. But yes...beta play testing can be heartbreaking but also rewarding too. Starting over isn't so bad. You've got myself, Burnz, Candy and a few others having a go and we're all at the start point. Hell I'm still screwing around with settings and controllers. Especially in Beta you have to try not to become attached to your gear or achievements. When the game goes gold you might find a huge reset happens and everyone is back to square one (with extras they got in the kickstarter packages). You never know.

Would so map the hyperdrive to the command "Chewy, punch it!".cloud wrote:

Re: Elite Dangerous
Got my X52 Saitek for a bargain 167 bucks. I STILL have a logitech 3d pro, solid old beast cant go wrong. But H.O.T.A.S is defs the way to go if you decide you like the game.Cletus wrote:Without sinking megabucks into a flight stick I might not really use or need, I decided to buy the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro from EB today. Retailing at $59 I thought with it being Logitech I can't go wrong at that price but then EB went and sold it to me for $36.00
If I like the way the stick handles I'll look at a flashier stick set up.

Re: Elite Dangerous
I bought voice attack. So worth it. Just finished training my speech recognition and am now adding commands. I can deploy landing gear, target, boost, set speeds via voice. I paid for the full version. This will always come in handy for keyboard spastics like me.
Liking the feel of the stick after a bit of a tool around.

Re: Elite Dangerous
You may all now address me as Commander Gun.
When adding me to friends, simply add Gun as mentioned earlier by Cloud.

Re: Elite Dangerous
I had no idea this was ready to play now, checked out some videos of the beta last night. Looks excellent, time to dig out my old flight stick.

Re: Elite Dangerous
That name again is Commander Gun!
Gotta say, with flight stick and voice commands, this is the most immersive gameplay I've experienced since the first Splinter Cell multiplayer. And I haven't really even played the game yet.

Tomorrow I'll go hunting for a stick and a good headset to use with the voice commands.

Re: Elite Dangerous
Wonder if there's a way to use Kinect 1.0 as the mic and head tracking. I would be surprised if there wasn't.
