I've played five rounds of the PVP. Not normally my thing and usually my personal win goal is to not come last.
On the last game last night, something 'clicked' (or maybe they just had me in the ultra-n00b room) and I ended up coming second on my team.
I enjoy it somewhere on the same level of CoDMW2/Halo multi. Kinda an enjoyable experience for something different, but not sure if I want to do it a lot.

Xbone version wants to update, then says there is a problem with the update... fucking frustrating as I finally have a window to play it a bit.

This Xbox one of mine is always fucking up, 360 was so much more solid

Why didn't you put it into standby mode? It'll keep downloading.

I don't think it would have, the download was from within the Destiny client itself, not from PSN. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think games continue to operate in standby mode?

They do as when I dl destiny I set it up in the morning switched it to standby mode and by the afternoon when I got home it was ready.

I found this too. Added the download from work - when I got home the whole thing was downloaded.

Been playing some this morning on the PS4, don't mind it so far but it's been all solo so far. Anyone know how much emphasis on multi in the final game?

After tyoing around with the Beta, I think I'm in for Destiny. Only given it a go on the PS4 though, so wondering if it'll be worth sticking with Ps4 or Xbone. One thing that does anooy me, is that less people talk to each other on PS4 multiplayer, perhaps a result of not packing in headsets like the Xbone does.

Any thoughts on which console looks better & which version most are planning to buy?

If performance is your go then you'd have to pick PS4. Having said that it's looking likely these will be very close to parity. I've been playing this on 360 and loved the shit out of it so I doubt it will be an issue.

I'm getting a bone for this. I expect the Ranch to be split 50/50.
