I knew your first post after reviews came out would be about frame rate. Didn't stop Demon's and Dark Souls from being highly enjoyable games and now the PS4 gets a quality exclusive from the same devs.
Keep fighting the good fight lestat, it'll pay off one day, maybe when Froms exclusive game for MS is released, but then, I'll get the PC version since the Xbone will probably be at 720p.
What fight? I just want to play it without mind fucking constant stuttering. Some AA/AF wouldn't go astray too.
To my surprise it actually has a good level of anisotropic filtering. But one thing is certain, it certainly isn't the prettiest looking game - it's actually quite average looking to be honsest from the little that I played. I think I'm used to 'physically based rendering' in games and it doesn't appear to be using it. Framerate is stuttery even when there's nothing going on plus there's the shimmering of textures.
And it's all done, finally it completed downloading. It was one from 11:30PM last night and for 95% of the time it was super slow. It was just the last 30mins where it picked up. Now to put some time into it.
The framerate suffers from duplicating of frames or frame padding (some jargon I can't remember), something Destiny had initially and then was patched out. It's not actually slowdown.
There's a thread in the bible, I mean, on Gaf about it.

My PS3 died about the time Killzone 2 came out, I never bothered buying a new one. That's a long time ago. Dark souls series was multiplat, I played the first on PC, looking to pick up the remastered 2 out very soon. I have been playing lords of the fallen to get in the mood.
Never claimed I was a big fan, hence why I'm in no rush to play it.
You have a beefy PC Candy, try picking up lords of the fallen($19 g2play). It will ease you into the play style a lot more than playing a souls game, a bit more lenient but very similar weighty/punishment combat, more explanation of stats/skills etc. Dark Souls can be bought cheap for PC too.
Ive had it with this game. Keep on dying, stupid checkpoint system, enemies respawned after you died even if you have killed them. No pause available. I will take a break and try again later. Combat is a bit dodgy, camera issues here and there.
I swear this game has a real shitty camera and lock on system. I'm locked onto an enemy, then I try to escape after its charging at me, when I run off it's still locked on the enemy and I'm running around him in circles.
Edit; went even further than I ever went before, all the way down to the sewers with giant rats, but they locked me into a tight corner and I couldn't escape. They go down with one Molotov but I only had one on me. Game is not for me. Getting zero enjoyment from it. If you have never played a souls game before ( like me) EB rent it (not like me).
Like to hear everyone else's opinion. I noticed there were a few people on my friends list playing it.
The lack of a shield is probably making this harder for first timers, I can see camera issues being a big problem having to move around constantly in tight spaces.
