If you didn't like Demon's Souls aka GOTG, you won't like Bloodborne.

I'm not kidding around here!

What Sony console is it for?? Is Demon Souls like Dark Souls (a game I have also not played)?

This is one of only a couple of games I am anticipating this year. Really hope Bloodborne is the same fresh experience Demon's Souls was. Thinking about playing DeSo again as that was fantastic.

From Edge
"If you thought From Software was going soft, Hidetaka Miyazaki is about to put you brutally back in your place. And if you've been watching this generation from the sidelines, unmoved by the remasters and rush jobs while you wait for the first true essential to arrive, now's the time. As if there was ever any doubt, Miyazaki and his team have done it all over again."

So is this a Dark Souls continuation onwards of that series of games? Or completely different?

Similar but different. You now have a gun and a melee weapon but expect the same sort of dark gritty style of the Souls games.

I wish I could tell you more but I've been on complete media blackout with this only managing to see only one gif. No trailers, screens or in-depth articles. Will buy the CE and save it for a rainy day while I keep hammering through my backlog.

I'm in the same boat as you- I know next to nothing about this game and have basically not looked at anything so as to keep it as fresh and exciting once it arrives.

Did you finish any of the other Souls games Vince? I got stuck in DeSo in that Asylum/Prison Cell level and in DaSo1 I remember rushing further ahead than I was powered for. Hardly played that. Didn't bother with DaSo2.

Demons and 1st Dark Souls. Never played 2nd but the remaster sounds like a good time to get into it. Bloody hell its a massive first half of the year for me on pc and ps4!

I intended to do the media blackout thing with Bloodborne, but the announcement teaser made it seem really different to the Souls titles. The next trailer I watched made it look enough like God of War / Bayonetta / Ninja Gaiden that I became genuinely concerned. Watched the first five minutes of someone actually playing a section of the game however, and I've seen enough. It's a Souls game.

Don't click on this link if you want complete blackout for this game but if you want to play like dark souls 2 then be prepared to learn the gameplay all over again.

People keep saying how different it is, but as far as I can see the footage tells a different story. The fact that your maximum health was reduced with each death was talked up to be and indeed seemed like a major change before the release of DS2, and at the end of the day it didn't affect the overall feel very much. The move from grasses to flasks between Demon's and Dark was probably the most significant change throughout all of the games so far. Obviously I don't want to just play the same game over and over again and I'm happy to learn new systems, but I'll be disappointed if taking a methodical approach is completely unviable in Bloodborne, as that's exactly what drew me to the previous games in the first place.
