Re: Street Fighter V - PS4 and PC only
I was thinking about Zenny the other day while playing Lost Planet 3. Wondered why Capcom didn't keep using this across their games like back in the 80s.

They lost me at zenny, I'm too time poor and old for this shit.
Trailer for brand new character, Necalli, shown at EVO today.
He's got a full bezerker barrage move and then goes super saiyan in V-Trigger...

So... they wanted Wolverine but couldn't get him?
Re: Street Fighter V - PS4 and PC only
That background looks great. But the characters are all way too similar to SFIV's style to capture my interest at all.

Eh? We've played a few times before. Street fighter is low on my game time priority list these days, could be why you got upset.Candy Arse wrote: The game isn't even out and he's ducking me already.
Like deef said, just not seeing anything ground breaking or fresh here to draw me back in. If I get the itch, I'll fire up ultra play for 30minutes and get bored play something else. I always found SNK characters more appealing to keep my interest.
The genre was never the same for me after i stopped hanging out at galaxy world.

Vega is in and he's different - has a command grab, a second changable stance, is NOT a charge character right now, can sheath his claw at will but once it's knocked off he can't pick it back up.
Looks just like SF4, SF has always been shit, I'm too old to play these games now etc etc

I can only hope that this is like EO and you can still input commands the old fashion way. At times this feels like an F.U. to fans who have been playing for 20+ years.

He's currently not a charge character, I think it's making concessions for the seniors crowd who are "too old" and don't have the motor skills to play anymore. Hopefully they have a win button included as well.

Your troll would be funny if the opposite wasn't true.
Charge characters require very little skill to pull off their moves and promote turtle tactics.
There is a reason why I'm a SNK fan.

That must be why a charge character has never won an EVO tournament at SF4
All good bro, you admitted yourself that you're too old for these types of games. Maybe check out Divekick! Two buttons - dive and kick!

Re: Street Fighter V - PS4 and PC only
Current SNK is nothing compared to SNK in the 90s, where they had fatal fury/art of fighting/samurai showdown/KOF/last blade/garou. They had a great diverse lineup of characters, which is how the KOF concept came about. SNK back then were far more innovative experimenting with different play mechanics, SF never strayed too much from the usual formula.
Capcom just had SF and darkstalkers, they relied on the marvel license for other games to mix it up a bit.

What do you think of guilty gear xrd?lestat wrote:Current SNK is nothing compared to SNK in the 90s, where they had fatal fury/art of fighting/samurai showdown/KOF/last blade/garou. It retains the old school 2d handrawn look of 16 bit and 32 bit days but uses polygons?
Don't speak to boomy or candy on fighting games. This fool disses smash bros in favour of sony's clone of smash bros and tells people the 3ds version of sfiv was broken because there is easy mode for casuals despite veterens having the option to filter out those guys in online searches. I think fighting games are being dumbed down now for profit not for balance reasons. One of my fave charge charaxters is Gen because he can mix charge moves with command moves together in a combo for variety and to adapt to the situation using technique. If everything is command now, then it's probably to gain new people to the fighting game community.
Personally I would like the next SF game to look like the SFII animated movie where its cel shaded like guilty gear Xrd, but at certain points when you do your super if the player is knocked out, you can pick him up from the ground and using QTE system you do finishers to eliminate them. This would be a more violent SF game that gets higher rating but draw in the mortal kombat crowd. The gore woud be like the gore in animes like Berserk or Fist of the North Star and you coud taunt the oppenet after each finisher for more points.
That where SF needs to go.. When chun li kicked Vega(claw guy) out of high rise building in the SFII animated movie, she did NOT just knock him out unconscious for a round. That guy was trying to rape the bitch and she killed him for peeking at her tits while showering as she was going to get assassinated. Not the same as the games where he just fights in a ring wth rules. When you kill your opponent, the guy never appears again because the character is linked to a serious story. Why can't SF evolve? Same reason final fantasy was never able to go beyond turn based battles for so long because fans hate change.. It's 2015 now and we need more cinematic story so people care about the games as casuals otherwise noobs won't buy the games.

Re: Street Fighter V - PS4 and PC only
Here is the kind of music that needs to be added in street fighter 2 remake:
you play as one of the twelve and the entire game takes place in variety of places in the world ending in a final battle against M.Bison.
The game would be an expanded universe of the SFII Animated movie with footage that looks like cutscenes taken out of the movie but are actually completly new. With 3d polygonal cel-shaded models, capcom could create fight scenes that look straight out of an anime. The focus of the game would be trying to get back fans of the original SF II arcade and be the videogame adaptation of the animated movie with a serious story to each character (that means guile might be allowed to kill Bison rather than show mercy) and be a lot more cinematic than arcade gameand even have dramatic scenes. (perhaps flashbacks about charlie nash's torture and death by Bison?) Alternate paths mean the story changes based on who you choose to fight. (much like how you can choose your opponent in SF3.
With next gen consoles capcom could try to beef up the story modes of games to match home console experiences. They start by hiring writers to come up with characters and chapters that flesh out the lore of the universe. (alpha 3 had a lot of that but it was text) With each new sequel to SF some characters actually die off and only appear as selectable in dream match modes.
This will keep fighting games alive so they don't go the way of the VF series. The cel shading in platinum's transformers is what should inspire capcom to go back to cartoony form again and take advantage of nostalgia of the old things people liked. Then go on from there by remaking stuf like SF3 usingf more cinematic style. (yes with gore and character deaths like in movies) Unlike the arcade games the remake adds all the new stuff of current day SF like super meters and that but certain finishers have dramatic camera angles like in a movie for the story mode.
Unlike usual SF games Bison would be a overpowered character like he was in the original SF2 WW. And you cann tag in ken MVC style for help as a buddy. (Bison has huge health bar but you can have two characters to control for that final battle which only unlocks if you can beat the game using two characters. CPU could control one or you can tag one in/out)
Since it would be celshaded it would appeal more to the anime watching crowd and comic book readers. (ie fighting animes and mangas)

I know this is a recycled alpha character, just the females in this are DOA sexualised to the point I'd feel uncomfortable playing it if my wife walked in.
