Unashamedly stolen from GAF.
May or may not be staring at the arse a lot whilst playing.

Considering how much time you look at arse in 3rd person games, the gender starts becoming important.

I remember when Tomb Raider wasn't just another pretty-looking, on-rails Uncharted game.
Shame.

Re: Rise of the Mother F'n Tomb Raider.
Parts of new Tomb Raider is better than old Tomb Raider, parts of old Tomb Raider is done better than new Tomb Raider. I'm more than okay with largely scripted moments so long as they only serve to drive the story and don't make up the majority of the game. Positives from the trailer is that you don't see Lara heavily armed ever. Combat will and should always be a part of Tomb Raider, but it was too much in the last game and I don't want to see what I saw in the Uncharted trailer. The trailer focused on the environment which is what all the feedback was after the original game. I guess time will tell, but I'm happy so far.
Let's gif this shit up.
Unfortunately no arse shots.

Re: Rise of the Mother F'n Tomb Raider.
Yeah my big problem with the last game was the it was the epitome of every cover shooter out there. You can't say it was a bad game, it was just... every single other game out there.
I want more puzzle solving and tomb jumping gymnastics.

Re: Rise of the Mother F'n Tomb Raider.
All it needs is a bit more of an exploration emphasis.
The last Tomb Raider game was phenomenal and is a great framework for them to add some more vast areas and Tombs to explore. Do that and they've perfected it. It looks great by the way!

The last one started out with a lot of promise. It didn't go full-retard-Uncharted until about an hour or so in (at least at the pace I was playing at), and I completely lost interest when it did. I realise that puzzle-solving/exploring doesn't make for a riveting E3 trailer, but what was shown really looked like a case of holding forward on the analogue stick, occasionally pressing a button and watching the game unfold before you. Hoping it's more explorey and less shooty than the last outing.

Re: Rise of the Mother F'n Tomb Raider.
Looks good. I listened to a developer interview at E3 and he was very conscious of making it more like the original tomb raiders in terms of big tombs to explore, swimming, booby traps etc. This scene doesn't show a lot different from the last effort, just refined gameplay really, but I still have great hopes for it. I think it'll kick arse.

The reboot looked the same in reveals too like the rushing water bit and the parachute bit. Game was alright but definitely not as puzzle driven as the series used to be.Gamma wrote:The last one started out with a lot of promise. Re: Rise of the Mother F'n Tomb Raider.
This is the reason to get an Xbone at the moment. Tempted but will hold out for the PC release. Looks awesome, I loved the reboot.

This is my reason for keeping my Xbox one. So far loving it. Game looks the goods in 1080p and that first mission was tense!

Yep am totally fucking getting this game since I loved the "original"....but will happily hold out for the PC version. Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 are more than enough to handle for the time being...

Close your eyes when the cutscenes appear because I think they're in 900p .Vince wrote:This is my reason for keeping my Xbox one. So far loving it. Game looks the goods in 1080p and that first mission was tense!

Re: Rise of the Mother F'n Tomb Raider.
I can't tell its 900p. Game looks stunning. I'm quite sad that people will skip this for fallout 4. This game is my type of shit- adventure better than uncharted. Lost artefacts like Indiana jones. Cults (religion) and world travel to find gold. It just can't be beat.
When I went into jb to get this, they stuffed up my pre order and for 30 mins I waited by the side of the desk. I swear not 1 person purchased tomb raider yet a good 15-20 people purchased the ps4 version of fallout 4!

Well to be fair no one is buying an XBONE these days so you would expect to see more people buying a big game for the top console.

Rise of the Mother F'n Tomb Raider.
I'm skipping the ps4 version of fallout 4 and instead waiting until the mods section pick up. I may need a new GPU ( gtx 670) also.
I was going to go out and buy it but changed my mind. I've still got plenty of games I need to complete ( witcher 3/MGSV/Bloodborne) just to name a few.
Big mistake releasing TR same day as FO4. I hope the game does well.

Re: Rise of the Mother F'n Tomb Raider.
Well going from this thread alone, people are happy to wait a year for a different version. Fuck that. In a year's time there'll be new big releases.
