Adequate for me!

I really like the look of this. I haven't touched a Call of Duty since the first Black Ops so I think I'm ready for that style of game again.

To me it kind of looks like the graphical fidelity of Battelfront applied to Battlefield, in WW1... but stylized.

Hopefully it's optimised for ww1 pretty much how EA did to allied assault on pc.

This guy gives it the fine tooth comb, and also he went to the press event and talks about some other footage which he saw.

Looks fantastic, look forward to DICE going back to era of combat, the modern stuff has been overdone to death recently.

I've had the trailer music in my head the last few days, it really was an amazing trailer. I hope DICE deliver.

Battlefield 5 is WW1 game

Post by flipswitch »

http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/ ... ff02ca35c2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Last week, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare’s reveal trailer was the most disliked video game video of all time with about 300,000 dislikes. Today, it’s the most disliked trailer ever, and the 8th most disliked video period in YouTube history with a frankly unbelievable 1.2 million dislikes.

On the other side, Battlefield’s numbers are no less significant. The Battlefield 1 trailer has now passed a million likes, putting it in the top 250 most liked videos ever, and making it, by far, the most liked trailer of all time, across movies, TV or video games

Edit: didn't see Lestat's post above

I'm terrible at this.

There must be a good way to take down tanks and shit, I get destroyed by fucking tanks all the time.

movement feels pretty clunky, clambering is shit.
I'm not really convinced just yet, need more time with it

I'm skeptical of this game.

Levelcapgaming said in one of his videos that he thought the tanks were overpowered too.

I have a theory that the main reason they went WW1 was because they couldn't think of a good reason to get rid of infra red and night vision. Hey it's a hundred years ago, that's a good reason.

yeah I don't know man, I've hardly played battlefield before.
those tanks are very mobile and just go around fucking me up, if i'm a scout I don't want to be inside so I went into the cliffs just to escape them.

Also, this is a little issue with these games in general... 64 players means there's no real team work, and your performance doesn't have much of a bearing on the result.
it's a pretty empty feeling, I prefer smaller games that's for sure, the pressure and intensity is lost.

Hmm I just had a quick bash.

As a battlefield veteran it seems good

Runs smooth as butter on a single 670 as well

What you'll find is that as you get better and more accustomed you'll dig it more. Whenever a new BF comes out it takes some adjusting.

The servers have been down all morning (gay). They've been getting DDOS'd by a hack group.

From the games I think the only way you can take down tanks is as assault class with anti-tank grenades.

I was playing in the morning and about a couple of hours ago and had no problems. On PC btw.

I tried it using mouse and keyboard, then on the Xbone controller on tv. It seems it doesn't fully support controller because some options like moving around in the menu didn't work , so I had the mouse ready but in game it's fine.

Putting the FOV to the max is like a whole nother game. As itch said, takes some time to adjust, now having plenty of fun with it. Zero problems/ disconnects etc, dodos . I think I'm sold.

I was watching a stream the other night and it looked like it was being played through a fisheye lense, I couldn't watch it.

There's that, but the game feels much more faster and responsive. It's the worth the trade off imo. Indoors looks a bit wonky though.
