My 1080ti is bottlenecked by my 5ghz 7700k, Horizon 3 is bottlenecked by CPU largely. The wall we hit with CPUs a few years back is starting to bite.

I'm hoping the improvements in the 9th will help a lot there... The update isn't on the 6th like I thought.

This patch is amazing, framerates constantly north of 120fps even in surfers, I am GPU limited now 100% of the time on a 1080ti 1440p/ultra settings.

Amazing improvement, I'm going to try it out soon on my old 2500k setup with a 1080, but I expect to see rock solid 60fps on that system considering what I've seen on my desktop.

I can't believe all this time they had everything running on 1 thread, the whole point of DX12 was to use multiple render threads. Anyways better late than never.

Got the hot wheels DLC, looks amazing, the kids will get to enjoy it more than me right now, have to go to work.

A group of chess enthusiasts checked into a hotel and were standing in the lobby discussing their recent tournament victories. After about an hour, the manager came out of the office and asked them to disperse. "But why?" they asked, as they moved off. "Because," he said "I can't stand chess nuts boasting in an open foyer."

Great news, I'd been playing locked 30fps with my 3570k@4.2 and 1070 at 1440p. If I can 60fps through Surfers I'll be happy.

The new Hot Wheels add-on looks great but just doesn't feel great. I don't know if I was in the wrong frame of mind but it didn't grab me. I don't think I'll bother playing it.

The new cars do a huge disservice to the addon because they handle like shit on the plastic tracks. You need to spend a little time on car selection and tuning (especially gearing, due to the speed boosters). But ideally that shouldn't have been needed and the new Hot Wheels cars would have already been set up right. Compare that to the new cars (eg Subaru and big 4x4s) that came with the snow add on that were a beast in the snow, allowing immediate pick up and play.

Can you use the normal cars or can you only use hot wheels cars?

You can use any and all cars. The 'problem' is that the Hot Wheels cars are a bit shit and so they don't provide a ready path into enjoying the add on. Also, a standard set up for the main game doesn't handle the speed boost pads well, because usually the gear ratios are set to the top speed the car could ordinarily reach under its own power. These aren't unsolvable problems but it will definitely put some people off.

.......................sorry what? I drifted off.......I'm out, which is a shame because it looks great. Even the Mini Cooper wasn't fun to drive.

Getting 60fps everywhere now on high @ 1440p. Occasionally dips to 55-57 for a second or two. Very happy now!
