I think the problem is the console exclusives devs design their games and engines around the oddities of the console, once they port that peculiar design to a PC, it just runs bad. Also the game code is probably chock full of hacks/system specific code that just doesn't work when ported.

Re: Forza Horizon 3 incoming...
Been looking for wheels for the xbox since I got this, nearly made a shit mistake and picked up the cheaper Ferrari Thrustmaster wheel wrongly assuming they all had force feedback so now I'm thinking I'll get the Thrustmaster TMX. What's everyone else use? I'm assuming more expensive ones? Too scared to go more expensive as I have a toddler who'll get a hold of it...

Re: Forza Horizon 3 incoming...
Yeah the TMX is a pretty decent wheel from all reports. I'm using the TX with the T3PA pedals and the TH8A shifter. (Both can be used on the TMX if you decide you want a bit more immersion later) Best money I spent on an accessory in my gaming life.
Do yourself a favour though factor in a decent stand be it buying one or building one. I have tried wheels before and given up on them, buying a stand with this one has made the world of difference now I can barely play racing games without the wheel cause I've used it so much.

Big improvement for me, solid 60fps everywhere bar surfers, that drops to around 50 in some areas.

Re: Forza Horizon 3 incoming...
Nice I'll try it out tomorrow...gave it a go earlier and it's still very average with the wheel, fingers crossed the patch makes a difference.

Re: Forza Horizon 3 incoming...
You'll find most arcade racers are average with a wheel. It's usually the sims that are fine tuned for wheels.

OK Picked up the Logitech G920, shifter + Forza 3 in a bundle from JB for $399 which I think is pretty good value. In saying that I already have it on xbox one so I'm either gonna trade it in at JB or anyone here wanna buy it from me?

Re: Forza Horizon 3 incoming...
Anyone else had microphone issues on PC? Got into a game last night fine but could only hear Jizz & Burnzoire, and no one could hear me. Mic was working fine too. Wonder if it's because I'm using separate headphones & mic? Might be NAT related but I'm not sure how I can check my Xbox Live NAT on PC, all the network checks in the Xbox app look fine.
Might have to go back to the Xbone for MNR

Burnzoire and Jizz had issues on the first night. Both sorted it out fairly quickly. It might pay to shoot them a pm and ask them what went on.

Re: Forza Horizon 3 incoming...
I right clicked on my volume icon, then selected playback devices, had to change the default playback and recording devices to my USB headset (hyprerX cloud 2).
it's strange how you could only hear 2 of us

Re: Forza Horizon 3 incoming...
So only the digital version is play anywhere, if you have the physical xbox disc you can't load it on Windows.. fucking thanks for making that real clear MS.

Think my NAT was screwed, or at least I hope. Opened some ports but I'm still getting the "network settings are blocking party chat error".jizzlobber wrote:I right clicked on my volume icon, then selected playback devices, had to change the default playback and recording devices to my USB headset (hyprerX cloud 2).

yeah I had to set my headset as default communications device, even though it worked fine in other games.

Re: Forza Horizon 3 incoming...
By the way, how is the PC performance for everyone now that the second patch has hit?
It runs flawlessly locked at 60 for me without any hitches whatsoever, whereas before there were the occasional hiccups.

Re: Forza Horizon 3 incoming...
Mostly 60fps with some slight drops, team area at surfers can drop in the 40s though.
I refused to play it before the update, it was so inconsistent.

It's better but still getting hitches. I'm not sure if it's the game or drivers to be honest.

Re: Forza Horizon 3 incoming...
I'm sticking with 30fps, my 970 drops to mid 30s unlocked in Surfers which isn't much fun. Still 30fps on high at 1440p is better than Xbone

Yeah, instead of spending valuable time tweaking my PC I just play the game and it's great!
