I've read about that model of car having performance issues. It stutters every now and then.

So, picked this up finally. Let the game decide the preset through the intro, locked in at 36fps. Thought that was a bit shit, then realised it was in 4K DSR mode. Dialled back to native 1440p and unlocked framrate - 60fps plus goodness. This game looks beautiful, even recruited Madmya's drivatar

A week for my rig to arrive. :( Horizon 3 looks great, I love the Australian landscape in racing games.

The framerate I've found is inconsistent. In the country side areas it slides between 60-80fps but inside the towns drops down in the 40fps range. A bit disappointing, tempted to lock the framerate but not a huge thing. Certainly a pretty game, the landscape is pure Australiana.

Yeah recent patches/drivers (I'm not sure which one helped) means this game no longer stutters for me, it's very smooth now and sits around 80fps. There is only 1 spot it drops below 60 and that's in a certain part in surfers where it will drop to 40-50fps.

Can you set a custom location for Microsoft store games?

Ok, it seems you can set a custom location for MS store items however you can't separate apps and games. This would make a mockery of my e:\games\ directory.

You can move apps so you just need to move them from your custom location to the regular c:\ drive paths.

IIRC you have to set it when you download it. And when I reinstalled Windows my FH3 folder on E:\ wouldn't get recognised.

New patch out I think, reading it's causing some issues with frame rates.

I'll be choosing my games wisely from now on. Won't be buying day1 anymore.

I was just playing and it was no worse than before.

Just that fucking city, the rest of the game is smooth.

I just play this on xbone now, framerate is rock solid and it's better played on the big screen. I prefer the consistency and hassle free experience, it looks amazing on the bone anyways, the ultra preset doesn't look much better, just some better lod levels.

Well latest patch makes PC gaming great again, no more stutter, much smoother.

Anyways someone has used the horizon 3 engine to lay tribute to other racing games.

It's pretty cool.

Check out the gallery below.

I guess it just shows how varied and versatile horizon 3 is, it really covers all kinds of driving. I think it's probably one of the best racing games ever.

I wouldn't have believed it but yeah, the frame rate is solid now. Still dips in the big cities but on Ultra settings, 1440p the range is down to 60-75fps.

Yeah there are parts in surfers where I still see dips in the 50s, for the most part my framerate is 70fps+, it was just the stutters which was killing my experience.

I still think the cpu usages is on the high side, if they can squeeze out some more cpu optimisations, the surfers drops could be eradicated.

I got this when I got my Xbone. Looks pretty.. then did the drive to the festival site and then crashed into rocks next to a bridge and then couldn't get back off the rocks so had to turn it off.

The end.

Will come back to it when I have finished Last Guardian :D
