I thought the thread title related to another sonic game. Yes, the demo is crap - I know he's meant to be fast, but even the old 2D sonic allowed you to explore a bit (much like the slower moving mario). Recent sonic games have over emphasized the speed factor.

If I were Sonic Team, the intro to the next Sonic game would explain every game since Sonic&Knuckles as nightmares induced by Mushroom Hill Zone.
