Hitman 3
I'm in. Standard edition only. No way I'm dropping $140 in one go on a game in 2018, esp as all the content will be made available down the track anyway. Hitman 2016 is awesome. A James Bond simulator where you can spend hours crafting kills in one of the story levels or drop in for a quick 10-20 minutes of escalation missions. Perfect for parents. Then there are Elusive Targets - timed missions where you're given a period of days to sign in and take out a target with no saves/checkpoints. Fuck it up and it's mission failed with no option to retry. I've had some by-the-skin-of-my-teeth moments which are plain exhilarating.
Here's the first Elusive Target for Hitman 2:
There's also competitive multiplayer that isn't battle royale.
Buy it Pilon (or CA if you're reading) and play Ghost Mode with me.

When's this out? I have less than zero time right now but I really want it. And still need to finish the original. And I have RDR2 on order
Assume you're getting it on PC?

Re: Hitman 2
There's some new Halloween themed content just deployed to the current game, btw.

The pretty constant drip feed of content is another thing I like about this game.

Re: Hitman 2
Sounds like from this if you have all of the Hitman 2016 content then you get it in Hitman 2 but your unlocks don't carry over (probably due to publisher swap)

If you own game of the year edition, you will be able to play all 6 episodes, bonus missions("The Icon" and "Landslide" in Sapienza, "A House Built on Sand" in Marrakesh), and patient zero for free in Hitman 2

Re: Hitman 2
Yeah they bought out of Square Enix with 100% ownership of Hitman. Hitman 2 was announced soon after and is the basis for how they'll take it forward.

Re: Hitman 2
Reviews are very good. I'm preloaded ready for release tomorrow so have not watched below to avoid spoilers. Apparently no dx12 option as yet. Dx12 gave me a decent boost with Hitman 2016 so am hoping it arrives in the near future.

Re: Hitman 2
I've avoided everything for this game so I have no idea what to expect. Did hear there's only 5 or so areas, is that right?
That is cheap from CD Keys though, nearly bough it from Fanatical for about $59 on the weekend. Really don't have time for it right now sadly

Re: Hitman 2
Have been avoiding spoilers too but can confirm seven maps. One of those is a smaller starting/tutorial level and one is the Sniper Assassin map.
No rush. Only thing you'll miss out on by waiting are the timed elusive targets. If I were you I'd upgrade to Hitman 2016 GOTY edition when it's on special. That will give you the Hitman 2 Legacy Pack (remastered season one levels) for free when you pick up Hitman 2.

I've got all the episodes and the summer bonus levels, I thought that was all I needed to get them in Hitman 2? Not concerned about the GOTY level.Peppermint Lounge wrote:Have been avoiding spoilers too but can confirm seven maps. Re: Hitman 2
Finally finished downloading last night. The opening tutorial level is absolutely gorgeous. Best in-game stormy sky + animated rolling clouds I've seen. The texture work in Hitman games is as good as contemporary-set games get. The luxury house, its artwork, fittings etc. look amazing. Come on down once you're done with your pre-industrial dirt, filth, mangy animals, wood huts and hairy arse cracks.

I don't think anyone is still playing Farm Simulator.Peppermint Lounge wrote:Finally finished downloading last night. The opening tutorial level is absolutely gorgeous. Good. More taxing than previous in particular around foliage which you can now use for cover. Your 1070 will still run it maxed 1440p & 60fps minimum.pilonv1 wrote:Hows the performance compared to Hitman 1?

I'll just turn it down to high/medium mix if it's causing issues.

Re: Hitman 2
Played the Miami level last night. Finished with Silent Assassin after about 3.5 hours of exploration. The level size and detail that goes into every bar, office, garage, rooftop garden, dancefloor, walkway, etc. is crazy. My GOTY.
It looks great to see the UI with Legacy installed too. All the campaigns in a row - Prologue, Hitman, Hitman 2, Patient Zero.

Re: Hitman 2
Spent the last couple of nights soaking up The Undying Elusive Target mission. Sean Bean recorded a heap of dialogue for the Mark Faba character which comes across well. At one point 47 attends a meeting and the camera switches to first person. Mark Faba sits in front of 47 and engages in conversation. After that he does his rounds which is where you follow and determine your kill method. Lots of chat and references to keep you entertained. Entertaining enough that I didn't want to knock him off early so I could catch it all.
With Elusive Targets you can restart/replan a mission so long as you haven't killed the target. Once you pull the trigger you're all in. If you're killed it's mission failed with no option to retry so you have to plan carefully. As Elusive Targets go this was a pretty easy one but still very entertaining and a substantial production for a timed one-off mission.
Pilon he'll be around for another 11 days or so if you want to catch him. 40 dollerydoos from cdkeys at the moment:
