Got it on PC. Playing with keyboard since I don't have a controller. Whilst not ideal, I'm still having a lot of fun. Studiopolis is fucking perfect.

I also liked the second act of that Press Garden or whatever it was. Still a few more zones to unlock.

So sorry homeless/console-less Sega dweebs...I have some bad news for you!

Sega are refusing to provide copies of Sonic Forces (an upcoming Sonic game) to reviewers until AFTER the game is released. That's a crystal clear sign the game sucks and Sega don't want bad reviews to jeopardise sales (https://www.resetera.com/threads/review ... unch.2666/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;).

Too bad Sonic Mania (a glitchy as fuck random indie studio developed Sonic game with mostly copy and pasted 30 year old 2D graphics - that only takes 3 hours to finish & therefore never even got a retail/physical copy release) is the absolute best you can expect of the Sonic franchise.

Your precious Sonic will forever remain stuck in 2D, and will NEVER graduate to a quality 3D platformer like the phenomenal Super Mario Odyssey for the Nintendo Switch! 8)

You lose again (as ALWAYS) Sega dweebs!!!

Isn’t Mario Maker a 30 year old, cut and paste game too,

I thought you loved Sonic Mania going by your impressions:
Jasper wrote:It's games like this that are going to be awesome to play in handheld mode on the Nintendo Switch.

Frankly the Nintendo Switch version is literally the SUPERIOR version, as it's identical to all the other versions..except you can also play the game in the comfort of your living room on the big screen, as well as when you're away from home and out and about. :)

The game is also now available for download on the Nintendo Switch eShop!

I enjoyed Sonic Mania for the budget-priced indie studio developed downloadable-only 3 hour game it is.

But then Sega dweebs like Deef got cocky and took it too far (acting like Sonic Mania marked the rebirth of the Sonic franchise), and these fuckers need a reality check!

The fact is the Sonic franchise is as dead as ever (beyond resuscitation) except for bitter & homeless/console-less Sega nerds. The clock on Sonic's 15 minutes of brand new fame following the release of Sonic Mania is long over.

I found very few glitches... and The game is longer than 3 hours if you play it properly.

Sonic should only be 2D.. Happily agree that Mario works in 3D. Reason being that Mario works is the game isn't about speed.

Second... Sonic Forces reviews being terrible... we are already expecting it.

"These guys" you're speaking of (the development studio of Sonic Forces) is in fact Sonic Team who created the Sonic franchise.

How horrific that the same development studio who created Sonic and some of the best Sonic games in the world - have been unable to create a single decent Sonic game in decades.

It took a random little indie studio to develop a decent Sonic game for Sega's ultimate flagship franchise - and not Sega themselves. That's fucking unbelievable and demonstrates what an utter joke Sega have become. :?

Jasper the authority on knowing when a reality check is due. :D
You're pretty much on the money Rocco, just like the rest of the internet in 2012. You're only here right now because you saw a bad ol' Mario opinion and are still dealing. Like I said, I can describe easy examples of problem in pretty much every Mario game I've played. You're welcome to debate it if you'd ever actually talk about a single gaming experience of your own, but instead I anticipate frantic over-interpreting of that statement and sticky damage control goodness.

CyberFunk, nah it definitely has too many bugs I think. It's probably fine right now post-patching, but on release it was genuinely just past the acceptable level imo. What's worse in my mind is that with the patching they have also:
* blocked Knuckles' secret access in Sonic's GHZ1
* removed randoms and teleports from the PC debug mode
* removed the funny speed booster sound effect secret in Hydrocity

I liked all of those things. :(

Sonic Forces reviews coming?! :o I look forward to how badly it's going to be received. It has been extra hilarious because, for some reason, general market impressions were actually... keen? The entire Sonic fanbase could see the turrrrible desperation in it but somehow, some people out there were liking the look of it. I just find that so funny.... Forces was the utter champion at every single reveal being gobsmackingly bad and cliched.

The first review of Sonic Forces is now out (courtesy of Polygon), and the game is a fucking DUD!!!
Sonic Forces doesn't amount to much in a game so clumsy and limited in design.

Unless your dearest dream has always been to play a Sonic game as your own original fan art character, Sonic Forces doesn't have much to offer.

Here’s Famitsu’s Mario Odyssey score, 39/40. So it’s not that far off Sonic’s 35/40.

He certainly posts Famitsu scores for Nintendo.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild surprises with its gorgeous visual effects, spectacular horizons and the vast freedom given to players. Sadly, the open world is often empty and soulless, lacking a proper soundtrack, characters or stories that make for a truly unique experience.
6/10 what a crap game, you lose as always child molesting nintentards.

So it's ok for Famitsu to score a Nintendo game but not some other shitty little market? I'm pretty sure you wouldn't even be able to translate a Famitsu article.

Slant is evil.

Face it guys. Sonic is a washed up mascot along with all the old 2D cartoon characters of the past who lost their jobs to CG animated characters from pixar and dreamworks.
It's time you all grew up and moved on. What is wrong with the new Elephant mascot? Tembo the Baddass Elephant?

Mario can never die so long as people crave quality games. Sega killed alex kidd, didn't care about psycho fox, and neglected Wonder Boy. They also won't do new Streets of Rage sequel and could not fund Bayonetta 2 sequel. They won't bother bringing phantasy Star online 2 to the western console market. At least nintendo fans actually care enough about nintendo mascots by getting angry if a game they like doesn't meet their expectations. (complaining about battle mode for mario kart 8 on wii u, not getting new metroid games when Federation Force came out which they tried to stop being released, and demanding they release new NES mini. It shows passion. Sega fans just go "meh. Another bad sonic game. But all is forgiven." You've gotten soft. I thought sega dd what nintendon't? Where is the Golden Axe Dynasty Warriors game? Nintendo at least got fire emblem warriors and zelda hyrule warrios game. Why don't they license out their characters to Arc System Works to make a one-to-one fighting game with streets of rage characters or do something about their old IP the same way nintendo is? Seems like the company lacks vision and hates its own fans unlike nintendo. Yakuza is sega's only hope.

Letting go of sonic is hard I know but unless it gets Rayman origins/legends update in HD with sideon view the franchise can't progress. Freedom Planet is going to be seen as the furries choice of game to carry the torch.

Lestat, here is an article from slant which attacks gamergate; the movement which wants journalistic integrity in the gaming media.
https://www.slantmagazine.com/house/art ... -snub-more" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Being for them means you are with the feminist establishment trying to demonise male spaces to the greater masses. Nintendo thankfully being a japanese company and thanks to region free access to imports is able to bypass this feminist country's control. (they are the ones who want to use gaming platform as a tool to spread propaganda and the reason why shit games may get high scores in future if it has a feminist-friendly message in it.
Always seek truth and expose lies. When people like Anita Sarkesian spread BS to the masses, it affects your hobby because companies will kow tow to these people if they believe the propaganda of the infiltrators whose agenda is to destroy male spaces.

We will destroy them, not the other way around. It starts by denying these groups the funding they need to continue to operate and using their own energy against them by infiltrating their groups and turning them against each other. If you want commies to police thoughts through censorship and political correctness, then let them go on. But the rest of us will fight against the evil. SJWs are like cancer cells and those exposing them are like the cure that targets the bad cells to save the good ones who may be influenced by them and turn into one of them. Kill it early and you will have less to worry about later. Let it gorw out of control, and you risk killing the patient by leaving it too late. They expect people not to punish them for the damage they are doing to others. Purging these idiots from the male spaces is the only solution to preserving the industry of commie takeover. If collectivists want to create games as propaganda tools that is fine. But they can do it without sleeping with influential people to get good scores and instead learn to play fair. Istarts by boycotting the companies that do not have the best interests of the buyers of the games in mind and who allied themselves to these groups out of fear of them. Without money they will have to get real jobs that involve honest work. It's an everyday battle to kill them off so they get the message that this space isn't thiers and that they need to create their own space. If they persist we kick them from the chats, boards, shun them to limit their ability to interact with us. If you go after one of us you go after all of us. Old media must die off along with their fake news which is just brainwashing tools.

To show you are not kidding around you have to cut off any money you spend that supports them. These are people that wil complain about games but don't actually play or buy them. Mission: get these fucks out of our spaces. Outcome: everyone is happy to not be assimilated by the borg collective, and celebrates individual freedom and liberty to think for themselves. Commies then have to go back to being undergrounders again as people shame them for lying all the time and lacking evidence for any claim they make. When these guys lose the intellectual debate and nobody trusts them, then they turn violent. If we can get them violent, the public will see who they are and fear them which will motivate the non-gaming public to distance themselves from associating with them. It's a long road. Not everyone thinks rationally. They just soak up propaganda like a kd to candy. They don't know that they just ate junkfood which is bad for them. So we educate them over long time to wake them up. (just like 911 by only showing evidence and using professional architects and engineers who have respect and can demonstrate what they say to be true)

Sonic Mania Plus on the way!

I have to admit, Sonic Mania didn't hit the spot for me as much as I wanted it to. Simply because it's two-thirds old levels; it really was just too much. I could complain about maybe 2 other little things, but really, just too much rehashing, just let me out.

Especially when Mirage Saloon and Studiopolis are just hard-to-believe-good. I still find it difficult to fathom that in 2017, someone made classic levels better than the classics. So good, and then you run into Oil Ocean and ughhhhhh... just too much. Even the well-done revisits were still just too muuuuch. Ufff. I thought I'd really enjoy a new Hydrocity and Stardust Speedway. Nope. Green Hill is literally the only one I can stand. My replays of Mania are seriously just GHZ, MSZ, and SPZ.

So, awesomely, now we can do it again but better! Seriously though, I'm excited. I guess anything Sonic Mania is a good thing. Even though it is kind of two-thirds dead to me its heart was always in right place.

Ffs Deef stop dribbling crap and give us bullet points.
  • Frikkin' Ray and frikkin' Mighty are in. Frikkin' playable in Sonic Mania Plus. Nothing about that should be amazing but to me it's amazing. Like the Megadrive references on the title screen, I just love the greeting that it is to the old fans (like me).
  • God damn physical copy! God damn.
  • 4-player!? I don't even have 4 friends. And I want to say that Mania's split-screen is underrated. It's delicious.
  • Comes with a 32-page artbook! Wuuut.
  • The physical cover is reversible, to look like a Megadrive case! Well, Genesis sadly, but still.
  • It will have "Encore mode". I don't know how to say this without sounding ironic so I'm just going to do that! YOU CAN PLAY NEW VERSIONS OF THE LEVELS YOU ARE ALREADY PLAYING NEW VERSIONS OF. THIS EXCITES ME THE LEAST. Because seriously I can't take anymore of literally any of it. But still I want it.
  • Did I mention the 32-page artbook. I actually really want that! Again, I think I have just tipped too much into the blind fanboy camp with Mania. It'll be awesome to have official Mania artwork and I have literally never cared about that kind of thing before!
  • Only $30 US... so ok it might end up being fiddy for us.
Anyway I'm getting it!

Here's the link you could have just read instead of my crap! :D
http://www.sonicretro.org/2018/03/sonic ... s-a-tease/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Right, and here's a teaser of these shorts they're making called Sonic Mania Adventures. Looks awesome! Because Mania's animation was literally the best animated anything Sonic. I am sold already.

Although, enough with the Bruce Lee?
Spoiler!
WAIT PART 1 IS ALREADY OUT! Sorry for the troll.

... That moment when you realised that
they're dialog-free Sonic cartoons!

That look amazing! By Mania's animators! They're perfect, damn! The sound effects are all over it. I am sniffing with glee. This is like, exactly- OH MY GOD I DIDN'T SEE THE POST CREDITS -exactly what my childhood was about, except this is better than what we got. Seriously these are the perfect cartoon. It was so engrossing, it's like watching Pingu but awesome instead of weirdness you're not sure you want to be around.

I liked how he was glancing between the spikes and cannister while he hung there. I like how he just kicked him after all the hand waving. The little touches are there and great.
I loved how he bailed out of the trap with when he felt good and ready and took this randomly super-smug dismount. Anyway, really for me these are the perfect cartoons.
I would like to just comment on how I've had about 16 hours' sleep in 5 days.

New trailer for Mania Plus. SALES FIGURES HERE.

Apparently there has been some major leak too. I intially thought I'd just go all-in on the spoilers this time, buuut then changed my mind. So far I have learnt about 3 things I shouldn't have, eh.

Anyway, what is officially revealed in the trailer is pretty much what has already been announced. But it's still pretty cool to see Ray and Mighty moving around, and 4-player split-screen would be great. So this is why people make kids; to play colourful 4-player games with.

The slightly-altered stages don't majorly excite me. If they were little extra secrets, rather than modifications, I'd like that. But ultimately the problem is still that I don't enjoy the repeat levels that much, altered or not.

Still, I'm in. Plus the artwork will be great, and that Mega Drive cover is a bit of a nostalgia boner.
