Sugesstion to Sony (force developers to do this)

Please put the manuals in the games when you download them.

There is no reason why the manual should even be a seperate thing from the game. :loco:

If I download a game, the manual should be immediately accessible from the game menu or the dashboard.

If I want to print out the manual then I should also be allowed to go online to print the pdf to paper if needed.

Currently what you have is to get the manual, you have to go to the internet, get the PDF file and then read it from a web browser. (or just open up the PDF file from a PDF viewer on computer)

Keep that in place but ALSO put the fucking thing in the game. Thanks. And when a new version of the game is released with new content and features: you include the new manual in the patch/update.

Two options is always superior to one option. I shouldn't have to chase YOU to get manuals. Make this a mandatory requirement for all developers from now on. If the internet ever goes down for a prolonged period of time, and you have the manual IN the game, it means you can still read it. (lets say you don't have internet at the time.)

What you can do is in future you can standardise the way help system is implemented for all games where the help system is an in-game method of learning as you go. And the manual is the file you can read offscreen (by printing it out from PDF file) or view from the web, or from the game that it is attached to.

My idea is better than yours so please just fucking do it. Get with the times motherfucker. Nintendo already does this with their games. IE push the home button while you are playing the game) No reason you should not follow. Putting it on browser or in PDF file format is perfectly fine, but make your own system that lets you view the manual in the game too. No reason this shit has to exist as seperate from the software. PDF one is so you can print it out yourself. And the one attached to the game is for when you don't want to view it from a seperate device or through the web browser on the console.

200 page manual for Elite and you can;'t even view it on the ps4 browser.

And they say that consoles are becoming more like PC. No do not go down the path of PC, put the manual in PDF as well as in the game.

This is the future of games. You can read as you play the game. Some people actually like knowing how to play a game before they do shit. This idea of making it hard to get the manual by chasing it from a seperate device is ridiculous.

3 manuals:

1. pdf file to print out on pc if you want a physical one
2. in-game manual (copy what nintendo do with 3DS and Wii U, Switch electronic manual in the game)
3. if it's a fighting game you can put in a tutorial for beginners explaining terms and introducing advanced topic

only necessary for games with loads of menus and options to tweak:
4. online help system. You search through menus and pressing help gives you the context-sensitive help on what each option does related to the menu you are currently inside. (we shouldn't have to watch a totalbiscuit video on what each options does. a mouse-over or online context-sensitive help can save time looking it up)

and optionaly a quick reference card if it's a complex simulator. (most games have friendly gui interface which tells which each button will do onscreen, but quick reference cards are still faster for understanding at a glance)

It's time to get our manuals back. They have been hiding this shit for too long. Making us go and fetch the manual by going directly to the website. Not good enough. Put it on the game. Save us time.

Thanks sony. Make this a standard for all games on the game systems. This will allow more complex games to be easily understood by console gamers who traditionally were instant gratification people. But as more pc games get ported to the console, their is bigger demand to be able to see those manual again before jumping into the game.
more complex games will have an easier time selling on console if people playing them were told how to play them properly. More options is always better than less options.

Our mission is to prevent candy from hiding the good games on pc and preventing them from coming to console. If we can steal all the good ones, consoles can continue to survive and developers can make more money to improve the games themselves instead of keep them small and low budget with very little content. More people playing the game = faster prgress and bigger games with more polish. (more bugtesting people out there finding the errors and gameplay imbalances so it can get fixed faster)

sales of elite were pretty good:
