Re: cuphead
Damn, I just passed it up because I couldn't be bothered messing with controls.
Definitely my el cheapo controller just does not like this game.
I take back what I said about bosses getting easier once you get the pace. Moving into the 2nd island I got whipped.... ended my session without passing any stage.

Re: cuphead
2nd island is tough, I'm at 3rd with 3/6 bosses down. It's very addictive and the boss fights all have something unique and interesting to them. Simply an amazing game so far.

Re: cuphead
Just got dice king and the devil to go, went back and redid some run n gun parts to get all the coins. The weapon switch trick is overpowered, I remapped controls to have the weapon switch buttons on the face buttons. I've been playing it on PC and Xbone, cross save working good here, on PC the game runs 144hz, response feels a tad tighter when doing parries.
This game has stuffed up Forza7 for me, MS should have spaced the release dates better.

I haven't lept and screamed from a game like that in years.
Good feeling to be in the 2% club.

Just realised you don’t have to rapidly press the fire button, holding down the button does the same thing. Game defaulted to 720p for some reason - like it’s even noticeable with all the post processing going on.

Re: cuphead
Is this a timed exclusive on console for Xbone? Still sold very well despite that.

Re: cuphead
It's a Play Anywhere title which says to me it will be console exclusive. I haven't seen one that isn't.

Re: cuphead
Nah, but there are some examples of Play Anywhere titles being multiplatform so I'm wrong anyway.
Thimbleweed Park and We Happy Few are multiplatform and Play Anywhere games. So there is some hope for flip.

Re: cuphead
Candy's fave reviewer Jim Sterling is back at it again making fun of hardcore gamers and hardcore games in general by reading forum comments in that annoying PC elitist voice that balding PC gamers do. This time he chose cuphead as the topic. I thought it was worth posting it here as it shows the beginning of the civil war between the pc gamers and the console exclusive guys who hate each other's guts. Social media is a powerful propaganda tool of the crazy pc elitist types and since Candy loves this guy's Zelda BOTW review so much I couldn't resist sharing his anti-PC elitist gaming humour here. (BTW I don't condone making fun of hardcore games and gamers because we are outnumbered by the casuals now and it's probably the reason nintendo didn't want to let go of waggle gaming controls in the Switch)
No wonder console rpgs are becoming generic action games these days and losing the tactical elements of older games. The casual gamers have gotten way too powerful andthese types of videos designed to make us into the abnormal ones are trying to normalise easy games for the future kids of gaming, making people weak and whiny and entitled to see the endings to games without any effort or practice to earn their victory. Thanks a lot candy. Your idol is pressuring the gaming community to just accept the move away from tough game like in the good old days of phantasy star 2, megaman, and Baldur's Gate and more towards easy shit like Star Wars Battlefront 2 where you can win automatically by being a rich guy who bought all the upgrades. Fucking loons...
This is Jim's true inner self where he thinks he is better than you and why he chose to give zelda BOTW a 7. Because he considers himself as being a higher quality critic than all the other magazines. The normal Jim is the character and this aristocratic character is who he really is; hiding behind the normal jim as the diguise.
