Seriously guys, you need to get on this one.
It's the best, fun arcade racer since Blur, without question.

It's a little rough around the edges on tech glitches and presentation, but it more than makes up for it on sublime handling of the cars, the AI, and the racing, which are all tight as hell.
The campaign is really awesome.
There is no driving line (huzzah) to suck the fun out of the racing and make it a QTE-fest. But the visuals make it so that you can properly judge the corners and take the line of your choice anyhow. Every corner has many lines through, and can vary on result on what you're trying to do.
The destruction and damage to the car models is excellent with pieces flying off everywhere.
Online is well done also. All of the rooms I've been in so far, the pings across all the participants is only double digits, and I've seen no lag.

In a year with so many excellent games, I have a feeling this one will be my personal GOTY.

It's been on my wishlist for a while. My son happened across a video of this game a few days ago among the many videos of car driving games he browses. It was a smash-up derby round and it looked great.

Dunno if it's the same guys still in the dev team but it is made by Bugbear that did the Flatout games, so that's promising. Just picked me up a copy now so looking forward to giving it a crack.

Opened up the Amatuer tier of races last night (there's 5 from memory), good to see a Flatout track making an appearance. Hoping there's a couple more but given the actual style of the game I'd probably not hold my breath. It's more like a Rally Cross sim than an arcade smash em up racer. There's no extreme jumps and ramps, but there are also quite few tracks so far that involve doubling back and driving into oncoming racers.

Cars are class based like Forza, so upgrades increase the grade slightly but engine swaps change the class.

Cosmetic parts are given away for free if you place in the top 3. Not all performance parts are available until you rank up.

There's some good fine tuning options for the controls, throttle dampening, deadzones etc.

Tuning for the car is pretty bare bones. 5 settings for each, suspension, gearing, brake bias, differential. Also a few presets for ABS, Traction Control and Stability Control.

AI has 3 difficulties, Beginner, Amatuer and Tomby, although the hardest setting isn't that difficult tbh. The car tuning is what makes the racing hard. The higher the AI, the more likely you'll be among the cars for the duration. Set the easy and you won't see any after the first corner.

I'm closing in on the end of campaign, and there's been a couple of races where of 24 competitors, I'm the last man still running, limping over the line in a busted shell of a car.

Yeah, I've been compelled with this one. Can't stop playing.
Finished career last night @ level 36 (I think). And that's included a couple of hours of multi. The levels go up much slower in multi.
No way I'm done with the game though. I want to piss around with the cars more - upgrade, tune and change the colors and looks.
Definitely more online and I've only got between 50-75% of the stars in career, so I'll probably be going back for that. It doesn't seem like it's easy to identify which events stars are missing on from the events. Hmmmm.

Something else I love about this game. Not a fucking lootbox in sight.

Heads up. This game does not support cloud saves and the save location is within the Steam program files directory. Take that into account if you refresh your OS drive.

I only lost 7 or so hours however I’m not looking forward to redoing those ride on mower events.

Agree, mower and couch races aren't that enjoyable. Couch feels like maneuvering a Coles trolley on a hangover.
