I hope it's good but man, the whole setting/theme just doesn't interest me. They're fucked from the get go in my world.

Re: RAGE 2
We already got a next gen Mad Max game, I'm with madmya, the setting is a bit meh but we'll have to see what the gameplay trailer has to offer first.
OK just found out Avalanche is behind this, the developers of the Mad Max.

Re: RAGE 2
It's going to be first person, looking at the over the top trailer, I think they're going to inject some borderlands humor into it and maybe put an addictive RNG loot system into it. A new borderlands is coming so they'll be competing with that.

Re: RAGE 2
If that were the case, then it sounds like they are just making another Borderlands without the cel shading (presumably).

I’m not sure what to think of that trailer, but I’m hoping GameHED will make some sense of it for us.

Re: RAGE 2
Doom gameplay in an open world sandbox, looks pretty good. I don't know why they just didn't release this yesterday.

So Avalanche are making this ( MAD MAX Game) and the Walmart leak showed that Just Cause 4 was in production. So that means it won’t be worked on by Avalanche again just like Just Cause 3..

Re: RAGE 2
It's all just a dream. Like Star Wars Episode VIII. Mark never agreed to work with Kathleen kennedy and Luke Skywalker didn't suck an alien cows titties. He died years ago like what they did to michael jackson by putting a fake version of michael to replace him after the accident that happened to his face. (with deformity to his face they could not make any money from the original so they had to have something good enough to fool the public) Luke all throughout the new star wars movies was a force ghost inside a clone body of himself.flipswitch wrote:I’m not sure what to think of that trailer, but I’m hoping GameHED will make some sense of it for us.
In this game you wake up and everyone is happy and it's a LARP but taken on a global level. It's a mixture of the Hunger Games and LARP. You are not a bad ass like Jason Brody from Far Cry 3 where you killed your own whiny over-controlling girlfriend to fuck a demon sorceress and become a strong warrior like the cool black people. No you are a strong warrior SPIRIT inside a nerd's body doing live action role playing of being a bad ass, but the result is that you ARE a badass but in a shit body because you; as the warrior SPIRIT are in control of the nerd making you able to appear normal on the outside. It is similar to the starving people in venezuela (they become badass by competing with other desperate people which makes them tougher) who need to use fear to keep thieves in line long enough to be able to steal back their food while they play World of Warcraft to earn enough money to support themselves. That's Rage 2.
Why is bethesda making it? It's to appeal to skinny people (these guys can't get the girls so its hard for them to compete) who view toxic masculinity as people whose muscles have gotten too big that they can't scratch their own bum properly because their mother taught them that patriarchy caused the world to end because "strong dudes fight in wars" and we all know war is bad mmkay. (see mad Max Fury Road where Max is a pussy and beaten by disabled one armed girl who has to shoot people from long distance because she is too scared of muscle men to face them up close and kick them in the ballsack where they can't reach to block the hit because their muscle get in the way) We are taught by today's university professors that strong guys are evil because weak guys suffer due to them not being as strong to bash them up. So post apoc games teach kids that the environment was destroyed due to being too tough. Put women in the post apoc, and its ok for them to kill because they are skinny too. And they won't be too tough to make the world to end like men and fathers. Bethesda knows this so they want to copy blizzard by making games aimed at metrosexuals and hipsters and SJW not the gamers anymore who said fallout 4 sucked. (that hurt their feelings which is why Elder Scrolls 6 is being delayed as punishment for a disrespectful critics who think it's easy to put bugs in games to extend the play time of the games and deny companies like Obsidian their bonus for getting low enough metacritic score to hold them back like the Jedi council did to Anakin Skywalker)
Bethesda need their own borderlands. Fallout 4 gave us this. But as we know: no emphasis on vehicles because their shitty engine isn't ready for this. (it's a true RPG but with some action in it, not a full blown action rpg) That's what Rage 2 is going to be. Skinny people who don't threaten feminists much and who kept buying the sonic games and pretending they are cool when Sonic stopped being that after the furries destroyed the idea of liking him anymore by taking over the sonic fandom and winning the war for control over who are the true sonic fans, which resulted in shit sonic games. (because the current games are just merchandise of the 90s games but not actual games themselves, just like EA Star Wars titles are to Star Wars movies today. You get the idea: one is a game, the other is capitalising on the name only but isn't a true game. Gamers from the Generation X are smart enough to tell the difference between the two which is why everyone needs to educate the younger gamers what sucks and what does not suck so they don't empower the shit companies to fill the shelves with garbage)
related:
how clones are used to 'ressurect' the ancient rich guys who believed they would come back to life thousands of years later Ready Player One satanic symbols everywhere in the movie to get gamers into satan worship (in the occult world symbols have magic power so they are allowing demons to exit out of the image into this world. See Derek Prince videos on how to remove curses and hexes) :

Re: RAGE 2
Does that stuff really matter? Once a formula has been established, other people can take the formula and make new shit with it.flipswitch wrote:So Avalanche are making this ( MAD MAX Game) and the Walmart leak showed that Just Cause 4 was in production. Why is it that Rockstar can get away with it (GTA and Red Dead Redemption being two groups) but other companies can't? Talk about elitism.
Shigeru Miymoto was behind the Link To The Past Sequel on 3DS. Good game. Does that mean Zelda BOTW can't also be amazing if the original guy wasn't heavily in control all the time to create it? The formula of open world zelda was established in the very first NES title long before 3D open world titles in the age of ubisoft. We shouldn't idol worship the people but look at work based on whether its quality. It's why rotten tomatoes is not trustworthy anymore due to bias. (the type of political messages contained in film influence how good post modernist critics think a film is and this creates divide between consumer and critic in whether something is of actual value)
Think about it this way the original creator of GTA isn't celebrated anymore like a neccessity to making a game good. He was involved in crackdown, something people think was overated during Halo trilogy days. But just because that guy isn't involved, does that mean anything other than the original GTA game should be looked down on? No because the formula is known and others can expand on that. If a game is good, it can be good because it follows a successful formula and not necessarily because the original guy behind the formula was involved. (in fact it might just be marketing gimmick to publicly say they influenced the way it was made, but behind the scenes they shut that particular genius out of creative decisions like disney did to George Lucas by buying the name and then hijacking the money making machine) A game can be good if the forumla still works and the guy who helped to make it dies, leaves, or isn't involved anymore.

Re: RAGE 2
QuoteTo make it simple, on the enhanced consoles, it runs at 1080p/60fps. On base hardware, it runs at 30fps. On PC, it’s uncapped. We went for speed over 4K for the enhanced consoles.
Smart move prioritising gameplay over graphics. Will be interesting how the unwashed console gaming masses react.

Re: RAGE 2
IGN have a preview up:
Rage 2 Plays Like Doom Had a Crazy Mutant Baby With Just Cause... so far it feels like a marriage of id’s polished combat and Avalanche's openness that has resulted in the best of both worlds, and I’m genuinely excited to play more.

I'm tempted to get it because the gameplay looks really good, is anyone else grabbing it?

It looks fantastic. I've got enough on my plate to not warrant day 1 but I'll certainly pick it up at some stage.
I was contemplating installing the first game but Ambrose's recent meh out of ten review has put it toward the bottom of my pile.

Re: RAGE 2
Yeah it looks like things get dragged down by the bland open world. It sounds like if they made things more compact and linear the experience would be more enjoyable. But to be honest the first Rage was a bit like that.
This quote on steam reviews sums it up.

It's like Mad Max except instead of being Batman when you're not in a vehicle, you're Doomguy. Decent.
