For me:
- Sony. Keep on keeping on. Already strong. Last of Us 2. Ghost of Tsushima. Spiderman. Death Stranding. FF7R. Shenmu3. Surprises?
- Nintendo. Smash. ? Surprises?

- Microsoft. I expect nothing. I guess Forza Horizon 4? This is do or die for MS for mine. They're getting spanked by Sony 3 or 4 to 1. God of War sells it tits off. Microsofts response? GaaS? They can't even do that right (Sea of Thieves). This idiot Booty guy who reports to good guy Phil is out there talking GaaS. Pffft. I really think MS do not want me as a customer, and at this stage I expect not to buy whatever their next console is.

Anthem will be a micro transaction disgrace.
Battlefield V might be ok maybe? I lol'd at the stupid trailer with the chick wriggling backwards on the ground while the tanks drove through the building and were either side of her.

Madden/Fifa a given, but does anyone care?
The crazy thing is I'd buy a decent arcade NFL or soccer game, but EA won't be giving me that.

BF5, looks to have improved destruction and you can now build/repair structures/fortifications.

Unravel 2 out now.

No loot boxes to be seen anywhere, EA is distancing themselves from it now, although you will see microtransactions/skin etc.

The Anthem gameplay video doesn't work

Cinematic trailer looks great but I've tried The Division and Destiny 2 and nope. Gimme single player FPS like Doom and Wolfenstein or another single player Mass Effect or Dragon Age. Multiplayer can be tacked on if needs be. Or bots. I don't have the time nor inclination to team up with others to grind and grind AND GRIND for shiny things.

I feel old

I'd grab Anthem in a heartbeat if I could legit experience everything (get the best ending) without touching MP like I could in the Mass Effect games. They say you can play though the whole game single player, but I am sceptical.

The first thing MS need to do is remember what made original Xbox so appealing: power, exclusives, and doing things that offer something a little different from the boys at sony and nintendo. (eg elder scrolls, more pc like titles, introducing western pc genres to console kiddies who shunned the genre)

They have to establish an identity uniquely their own. Sony has the exclusive, they learned their lesson from ps3 days, and trying hard to be cool again to the hardcore without alienating the casual either. (eg you can still see platform games on it)

Nintendo will always do whatever they fuck they want and fans will support it. Despite people laughing at gamecube games like Zelda Wind Waker were ahead of their time with charming visuals and art direction. When they tried too hard to appease the critics with Wii U, they ended up not as sucessful as Wii days, so they have to balance that. Switch is doing well and they can be the handheld-home console niche. Skyrim on portable is exactly how I imagined them where they appeal to the western gamer more but not betray their japanese game roots. (marios, zelda, pokemon, xenoblade etc)

I want to see info on star field. Daggerfall in space FFS. How can you not like that idea? Mass Effect mixed with No Man's Sky but with Star Wars style space fighting and open world exploration of Elder Scrolls. (without needing to be online mmo. ESO already scratches that itch) I imagine a game that takes inspiration from the movie Krull with Liam Neeson in it.

or maybe it's more like Legend of the Galactic Heroes* (the Game of Thrones of Space) with sci-fi more than science-fantasy theme:

if there is no info there, people will be sad. This is Bethesda's chance to take break from Fallout (FO4 was a disappointment to rpg fans who liked the smooth action but felt the lack of real rpg was betrayal of what old fallout was about)

*if all anime were as thoughful as this show, then the weeaboo would not be looked down upon by the westaboos.

About Dragon Age, I always wonder why don't EA just do a remake of this game (the original) the same way 2K gave us the Bioshock collection?

Dragon Age 1 remaster. Make it happen. It wasn't ported well to console the first time and the consoles are better now.
If sega can give us Shenmue 1 and 2 then EA should meet the challenge and do a compilation release.

As for Mass Effect, all they should do is reboot it the way Zelda BOTW could be considered a reboot of original NES Zelda.

Do it right, use the proper engine. And retell the story for a new generation. These current gen consoles are all about pretty versions of old games being made for people who didn't like 30FPS. Sony is remastering pretty much everything for noobs who only owned xbox360s last gen, Sega is doing it with Yakuza games by updating with better graphics engines, and Capcom has achieved success with Monster Hunter World (which is the game they needed to bring it to HD generation; even though MH3U could be considered HD at 1080P it was a port of a portable game up-resed and not a true HD title made for homes). Its time EA did something unoriginal with older titles to rake in the money from younger people who won't bother playing them on legacy machines anymore. (but consider the time we are in - ie these are not mere ports of pc version ofa game that is aimed only at the rpg nerd but adapted to console for mass audience who want smooth interfaces)

Skyrim re-released so many times. Why isn't EA re-releasing original Dragon Age? They are both about dragons. Have dragons suddenly become hard to market again because people got sick of them due to Skyrim ones only being Wyverns with two legs?
