I have no idea what that means but at the same time, I'm sure you're right.

Re: First Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay
I think he was referring to me about the challenge. Nearly completed that one now, after another 1hr & 20 mins I had done what was required twice, now just once more to go.

Haven’t touched the hunting aspect of the game beside the missions that involve hunting, but is it best to use deadeye when hunting animals?

Re: First Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay
Yes...and use poison arrows...one shot kill, and you can collect the arrow and reuse it infinitely. As long as you don't lose the arrow it by missing your target of course. You can craft and carry eight poison arrows.
My last comment was for lepo...meaning that there are challenges you don't HAVE to do...and also, the mountain is chapter one. While it's quite a small chapter, it'll likely feel like a complete game to you and will piss you off having to complete that area before you can actually go out and look at the world Rockstar has created. Alternatively, you could just go straight into the online just to see the actual map...but the experience is devoid of much of the stuff that makes the world engaging. But the mountain chapter (chapter 1) is pretty much just hard work, but once it's done, there's such a lot to see and enjoy.

Re: First Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay
Either way, I completed the Blackjack challenge within 10mins tonight. Now it's win 3 games of Dominoes in a row. The scoring confuses the hell out of me.

And I think there are different rules for dominoes as well. I won a few games....but no real idea how.

Re: First Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay
I assume nobody really cares here but they "fixed" the online economy. It's not fixed at all but you'll find you now have a gift for logging in from Rockstar. 15 Gold bars and $250 cash. You will also be refunded any monies spent on guns that have had price discounts applied. The R* gift should reach players by the 14th of december. I've already got mine and been reimbursed for the extra cash I spent on weapons. I got over 400 dollars back.

I didn’t log into the beta so I don’t get that stuff. So it’s not fixed for me

Re: First Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay
I didn't log in to the beta either, didn't bother as my PS+ was expiring, which it now has.
On the upside, once I understood the scoring in dominoes I managed to win 3 games in a row. Rode of to Valentine and proceeded to win 3 Poker games back to back. That's that Challenge tree completed.

It's not fixed for anyone by a long shot yet.

The game is still in Beta so I doubt either of you actually missed the gifted gold and cash. But you do actually need to log into the beta to get it.

Re: First Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay
Still getting distracted with this game. I go to do one thing and end up doing another. Some woman wants a Perfect Rabbit pelt and a Squirrel fur sent to her in Strawberry but I don't get the "Send mail" option at the post office. So I rode to Strawberry and that made no difference. Nek minnit I'm in the hills, did some debt collecting which resulted in killing a white Cougar, scored me some feathers from a Gold Eagle and Red Tailed Hawk, the then stumbled into Legendary Elk territory.
Anyone have any luck catching Legendary Fish? I've got the right lure and bait as well as time of say and the bastard just keeps swimming past my line.

Re: First Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay
Just finished Chapter 3, 47 missions down and about another 80 to go. What a huge game. GOTY!

Thanks for reminding me I haven't finished (midway through Chapter 5) and don't feel any urgency to finish it.

That's from the debug unit. There's no PC version.

I get the feeling we'll see a PC version in 2 years time, when they re-release the game remastered for next gen consoles.

You know what would sell truckloads? A RDR/RDR2 combo pack on PC.

Yes they need to extract as much from the console guys before they announce a better edition. To announce early means people who had never thought to buy console version would just skip it and wait. By not announcing they potentially make two sales. One for console and one for pc.
It makes business sense. I always feel an exclusive is truly just a time exclusive eventually.
Look at Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil 1 (remake) on gamecube as examples. These were made at the time by capcom to be nintendo only but eventually (admittedly a loooong time has passed since then) they made their way to new systems because fans are still willingly to pay money to replay old games on systems the probably don't own anymore. (in compilations)
So long as fans have money the developers will follow based on your reaction. This is why it's so important to show support for the indie guys who came out of triple A scene to do their passion projects because if nobody buys they will just revert back to making the predictably profitable stuff under a big publisher again which as we know those games often lacks soul due to the size of the company and number of people involved. (less charm than games of the past where a single visionary had final say over what is in the games. As a result a game has that generic EA feel to them where you can often predict what will happen in the games before playing them)

So after 8 years, where's RDR1 on PC GH?
