If memory serves there was an update that added a bunch of settings to alleviate motion sickness. Hope it sorts you guys out, it's such a good game.

XB:
Adventure Time. I gave this a lot more time than it deserved because it's Adventure Time, but yeah, it wasn't very good.
Star Wars Republic Commando. Just like the Jedi game last month, last gen (or two gens ago) game reminding us of better times, when games were just fun.
PS:
Cauladoody Modern Warfare. I fucking hate Activision, and I'm not much of a shooter gamer either. I did play this back on the 360, and I ain't gonna deny it, this is a fucking excellent game. The Infinity Ward CoDs (in particular 2, 4(MW), and 6(MW2)) are all excellent and I enjoyed all three. Great, great stuff. I don't care for the multi, but the campaign is sensational. This game totally deserves it's place in a video games hall of fame.
Witness. Very good puzzle game. I've managed to push on further than I got on the XB1. I just get too frustrated with it. Might press on, but using a guide.

I think there ws a fov setting from memory, I'll dial that back a bit and see if that makes a difference.Gamma wrote:

I think I changed that on PC and it helped but I was already feeling sick. Maybe starting with that setting would have helped.

Re: PS+/GwG - Super quick wrap up thread
Rise of the Tomb Raider has without question the dumbest opening sequences I've ever seen in a video game.
But, it's dumb fun and Lara Croft looks like a real woman.
I'll keep this one on the hard drive for a rainy day.
Also, Erica held my interest to the end. Didn't mind it for something short and different. Probably give it a 6/10.
Casino X Basketball is also here this month, but it had corrupted data, so I'm re-downloading it. Why? I don't know.

Re: PS+/GwG - Super quick wrap up thread
Just played the opening of Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
wtf?
Lara takes a treasure key that she knows will trigger a Tsunami that kills hundreds, maybe thousands of people, and it's like no big deal. She barely bats an eye.
The justification? Oh, the bad guy would have done it anyway...

I just bought SotTR after I got my Series X but am yet to play it. I did enjoy the first one in the reboot though.

Control UE is coming to PS+ for February. Score!
Also, Destruction AllStars is by former Bizarre Creations devs. I'll definitely check that out.

Re: PS+/GwG - Super quick wrap up thread
So, sortof in a lull at the moment, pre Mario 3D World, Destruction AllStars and Persona5 Strikers, so I've been trying out a few curiosities.
Three months of Gamepass ultimate on PC for $1, so sure, why not?
Here's a very quick initial impressions of everything I've tasted.
PS5 demos:
Balan Wonderworld
Looks really nice and colourful, but eh, the character moves way too slow, and it really is a kids game.
Immortals Phoenix Rising
This seems pretty good. I liked what I saw. Doesn't really do anything new or special, but what it does it seems to do well. Will definitely play it when it inevitably comes to PS+ in two years, or I pick it up for $5 in a sale.
Gamepass ultimate on PC
Streets of Rage 4
Haven't really followed the community on this one. They liked this right? I liked what I played of it. Probably slightly better than I was expecting. Could maybe have more abrasive 16-bit music though. Left installed.
Monster Train
Competent and fun Slay the Spire-a-like, with some original twists. Very good for what it is. I'm just not interested in another one of these dynamic deck builders.
River City Girls
Turd. Deleted.
Among Us
I installed it. I booted it up, then I realised I just couldn't be bothered buying what they're selling, so I deleted it without really giving it a chance. The premise seems interesting (in a One Night Ultimate Werewolf kind of way), I just can't push myself over the start line.
Carrion
Exactly what I was expecting. Indie MetroidVania with a cool premise and nice smooth controls.
WarGroove
Now I'm an Advance Wars purist. I went in very negative. No-one can make Advance Wars like Nintendo. Right?
I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I'll give this some more time and maybe pick it up on Switch.
Microsoft Flight Simulator
Holy patching and loading screens Batman!
Once you're up and running though, holy shit, wow. Looks phenomenal. And all the bells and whistles here. I managed to complete the take off and flight tutorials, but couldn't quite get the hang of landing.
I took off and flew all around South East Queensland - excellent stuff!
Not my thing, but wow, if it is your thing......amazing stuff.
Bloodstained Ritual of the Night
Erm, this is a bit good isn't it? I'll be playing more of this, and maybe pick it up for Switch.
Sea of Thieves
Definitely one I've been keen to try out. And I like it. It is exactly what I expected it to be.
I could absolutely see me getting into this if I had the time to commit to it. Rare did good.
Gears Tactics
This was pretty good too. All the polish of a Gears game in an Xcom like.
I could absolutely get into this also. Except it seemed to bug out weirdly and not allow me to press on in one mission I was trying which frustrated me.

Not on Gamepass PC. If it was it'd be in that list above.
Re: PS+/GwG - Super quick wrap up thread
I'd check if there have been any significant updates to the Switch version of Bloodstained before buying, it was a bit shit. I really wanted it for the portability but ended up getting it on PS4 for the acceptable framerate.
TIL PS4 owners can add the free PS5 games to their account using the PlayStation App. Wish I knew about that when Bugsnax was around, but I just grabbed Maneater (last day, get on it!).

My bad. I saw some announcement relating to it and gamepass last week and assumed it was on PC, but no, it was for Project xCloud.Twiztid Elf wrote:Not on Gamepass PC. If it was it'd be in that list above.

Re: PS+/GwG - Super quick wrap up thread
Thanks for the tip on Bloodstained Gamma. PS4/5 it will be then, if I get it.
Out of all the things I tried, I think Bloodstained and WarGroove were the most interesting two.
Destruction AllStars is damn good fun by the way.
Not sure why GAF has a hate boner for it.
I sat down last night intending to just check it out and play for an hour or so. I was still there a few hours later. Even managed to get a couple of 3rd places.
A trillion times better than either Fall Guys or Fortnite.

WWE2K Battlegrounds.
Hahahaha. I spent way too much time on this already. What a way to bring back fun wrestling games. Really fun. Really cool. A nice surprise. Definitely not deleted.
COD BLOPS4.
Ugh. No question smooth and pewpew fun. No single player though? What? lol. Definitely not for me. All the menus with no explanation are not COD-noob friendly. Deleted.
Plague Tale Innocence.
Oh wow, this is excellent. Another nice surprise. Played for way longer than I expected. I will probably push on and play through it. Graphics are gorgeous. Story, characters and setting are really interesting.

Virtua Fighter 5 (PS4) is up too if you missed it.

Re: PS+/GwG - Super quick wrap up thread
Yeah, I grabbed VF5 - It is awesome....
But, as far as fighters go, Guilty Gear Strive is absolutely amazing. Easily the best fighter I've played since SF4, and the load times on PS5 are unreal. When matched up against PS4 players, you're sitting there tapping your fingers waiting for them to load up.
The Oceanic and SE Asia lobbies are an expected wasteland, which leaves connecting up to Japan. For the most part, it's been super smooth network, but oh man, it's an absolute butt-kicking on those Japanese lobbies.
I've been maining Potemkin, but I'm seriously thinking I'll have to seriously consider looking into another main.
Gotta be honest. I think GG Strive is a serious personal goty contender.
Come to think of it, despite a slow start, I reckon 2021 has been a decent year for games so far, at least for PS5 owners.
Returnal, Ratchet and Clank, GG Strive, PS5 Wreckfest, Scarlet Nexus is impressive, and a raft of supporting, decent B tier games.
