Tried downloading Halo MCC again and same shit. Stops with an error after a couple of gig and eventually times out saying to check my connection. Tried again with my VPN switched on and it's downloading ok. *shrugs*

So I saw it update in Steam and though to myself "ooh! I'll have a quick game of Halo 2 before bed!"

SIKE!! Gotta update it in the game too, and even at 100MBit, there's no way it'll be ready for a quick pre-bed game. I mean, it's no Windows Store fuckery (thank god, since I reinstalled Windows last night), but still...

My Halo is working again. Halo 2 came down as well. VPN it is then. Download was slow at around 3.4mb/s but it worked and hopefully I won't have to download the whole thing again for a while.

Does anyone lose their campaign progress after updates? I've been reset back to the beginning of the Library level of Halo CE after I'd nearly cleared it. Of all the levels of all the Halos.

Well fuck me how awesome is Halo 2 remastered/anniversary. I heard the remaster was pretty good with new cutscenes and sound but I'm a bit blown away. The SMG is awesome. I remember it was pretty ordinary in the original. The weapon sounds are fanstastic.

It's pretty great. In fact, it's so good, I'm bummed that they didn't do the same for Halo 3 on its ten year anniversary. Feels weird to have the middle game look the best of the trilogy now..

Played another Halo 2 level after my previous post and it's amazing. Now up to the Arbiter level which I remember not really getting into (the whole 'play as the Covenant' thing).

I'd be keen to play the MCC bit can you imagine how big the updates would be from a vanilla install?

The last 2 weeks played through both Halo 2 and Halo 4. Thinking of playing ODST next.
