I call bullshit - Google hasn't used that home icon in several Android versions now, and the menu icon has been gone for even longer.

Could just be an old render. Hopefully it's not real because that doesn't look good for anyone's hands and wrists. Like a new Dreamcast controllerunfnknblvbl wrote:I call bullshit - Google hasn't used that home icon in several Android versions now, and the menu icon has been gone for even longer.

Turns out it's a render somebody made based on the patent application. because we all know how accurate the drawings in those things are...pilonv1 wrote:Could just be an old render. An attractive female that worked on a couple of big Ubisoft games (think she was the brains behind the first Assassin's Creed and one of the Splinter Cells?) before hiding behind the shadows due to the amount of fanboys and their inappropriate comments.Froggy wrote:That controller sucks but not as much as that tweet.

Re: Google Console hardware leak ahead of GDC
A streaming device or a traditional console with ‘cutting edge hardware’?
Re: Google Console hardware leak ahead of GDC
OK that's why I asked if I was missing something.. wiki has her as a producer on a couple of average games.. don't see her as an important get. If they had come out with a content maker like a major game player it would get more attention.t0mby wrote:An attractive female that worked on a couple of big Ubisoft games (think she was the brains behind the first Assassin's Creed and one of the Splinter Cells?) before hiding behind the shadows due to the amount of fanboys and their inappropriate comments.Froggy wrote:That controller sucks but not as much as that tweet.

I am interested in the Sega rumours, would be sweet if they got a load of cash to start producing some original content again as a defacto console without the risk. Competition never hurts although I hate Google with a passion it might shake up pricing and innovation from the other two, I don't see Nintendo changing much as they occupy a different retail space.

Re: Google Console hardware leak ahead of GDC
On the other hand, I love Google to bots (for the most part) but the last thing I want to see is a Google game streaming service.
A Google dedicated gaming console? Maybe, but isn't that what Android TV is for? I can't say I use my ShieldTV for much in the way of gaming beyond emulation, and I really don't want to see a console with a library full of rubbish mobile games.

Re: Google Cloud based Console - Stadia
I was watching the Digital Foundry video about this on YouTube, and The video had to stop and buffer twice.
Not even approximately interested.

Re: Google Cloud based Console - Stadia
A little insight into the different funding model they want to use for streaming services, I believe gamepass operates in a similar way.
Another interesting thing about the Googles service will be the use of Vulcan/Linux. So this might spur more AAA titles to be built to run on linux better.

Re: Google Cloud based Console - Stadia
Well what a pile of shit.
Although with Game pass and streaming game services I see it as a bonus where devs now have a 2nd chance opportunity where if a game under performs at retail they can then negotiate and whack it on game pass and have an opportunity for more revenue as you'll get people giving it a go because now it's essentially a "free" go to the customer. Something I've noticed with Game Pass the older it's gotten with some games I wouldn't have expected to be seeing on it when it first launched showing up relatively quickly after launch, a recent example being Just Cause 4.

This might be a viable idea in a decade or so. That also provides plenty of time to come up with a new name that isn't shit.

I don’t mind the name. Sounds like a 70s car model. Stanza, Sigma, Torana, Corona, Stadia.
