Nintendo did great. Square Enix did ok. The rest, not so good.

Yep showed my kids the video and they lost it! I preordered it and every day since in the morning my son talks about it. He's so excited. It comes out tomorrow I believe. So going to be an awesome weekend with my kids.

Since then, ‘graphical downgrade’ videos have become a thriving subgenre on YouTube, targeting huge games like Anthem, The Division, and The Witcher 3. They feed into a growing suspicion of game studios which paints developers as liars, out to deliberately mislead gamers in pursuit of greater profits.

They kind of are though. I think most gamers would be happy if the trailers were simply honest. Was never an issue in the Golden Era because what you saw was largely what you got.

And also not everyone had internet over 56k so one was more selective of how much they actually watched and of those videos fuck all were in high resolutions anyway.

Well my pick of the show (from what I've seen anyway) was Watch Dogs Legion. Then Doom Eternal and Bloodlines 2. So the games that showed (or at least claim to show) actual gameplay footage.

I have no doubt Cyberpunk will be excellent but it will be nice to see some gameplay too.

Next year is going to be nuts. Some fantastic looking games plus next gen console(s) too

PC Gamer posted impressions from the 50 odd minutes of Cyberpunk gameplay on display. I skimmed because I don’t want too much detail. Impressions surmised as Deus Ex on a limitless budget. The RPG elements are on par with current modern RPGs - nothing revolutionary. The attention to detail in crafting the Cyberpunk setting is insane. Keanu’s role is more substantial than might’ve been assumed.
