Does anyone else play Forza 7 on PC? I'm having issues running in fullscreen. Running windowed the performance is fine but in fullscreen it turns to stuttery jank everywhere - in game, menus, jaggy UI fonts, everything. I'd leave it borderless windowed if it had the option but it unfortunately doesn't.

Go into options -> video settings, the advanced tab and select performance target and change it to "unlocked (V-sync)".

It should work properly with your 144hz freesync panel. This game always had quirky issues with freesync/g-sync, I remember on my nvidia card I had to set my desktop refresh rate to 120hz along with the "unlocked (V-sync)" setting to get smooth stutter free performance. With my Radeon card I don't need to change the refresh rate but you definitely need the "unlocked (v-sync)" setting.

The game tries to do a 60fps frame limiter but totally messes it up because of the high monitor refresh rate.

Argh it's still unstable. Game has repeated pauses during gameplay and CTDs citing the display driver. My Radeon software was reporting 400+ fps for FM7 so I tried limiting FPS using Radeon Chill in case the high FPS reporting was causing the instability. No go. I'll try dropping my 165hz display to 120hz tonight.

It was better at 120hz fullscreen but not as smooth as running windowed which is where I'll leave it. It's flawless in this mode.

During TheWrap's digital event, TheGrill 2021, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said that Xbox Game Pass subscribers have reached the 30 million mark. This comment was made during a roundtable discussion that included Xbox executive Phil Spencer.
Amazing service, gladly topped mine up yesterday.

Avengers comes to gamepass also later today.

xCloud launched in AU today. Anyone given it a go yet? I'm at work and went to but it won't start without a recognised game controller. I reckon we have an xbox somewhere around the office so I'll go and steal that if I can and see how it goes.

I tried it with Dirt 5. It supports touch controls. Wasn't too bad really. Though touch controls aren't a great experience.

Image quality and response was pretty good for what it's doing. Plus I've only got 5mbit upload with Telstra.

My phone is over three years old now, actually the longest I've been able to own a smartphone, normally they die on me bang on two years. Yay forced obsolescence. But given its age the battery is nowhere near what it was, so I would hate to think what sort of life I'd get out of it if I played Xbox games on it during my daily commute.

2TB and 512mb external drive options now available for XSX. $400US for the 2TB is yikes though.

Through gritted teeth, I picked up a Series S today.
Nice little machine and all.

I did think to myself, I'll just plug in one of these external HD's I've got lying around and pull down all the golden 360 games I have on my account.
For all of Microsofts posturing on backward compatibility, here's the stuff I'm disappointed I've discovered so far that I can't put on my series S.

That Outrun one is especially egregious. Fuck digital licensing agreements. This is like if you couldn't watch Gone In 60 Seconds anymore because Ford only agreed to license the Mustang for five years.

Complete fucking bullshit.

Ayup, that's the one that hurts the most.
My XB360 isn't going to goodwill or anything now. Into a plastic box to be pulled out to play Outrun occasionally.

I need to get my hands on a working Xbox 360 so I can play it and the other non-BC games again. I still have the hard drive from my 360S...

I'm pretty pissed that Fez hasn't moved past the 360. Phil Fish is a dickhead, happy to shit on his fans that supported Fez from day 1 to get back at Microsoft.

Looked it up, not on Steam unfortunately. Just have to hold out hope for the emulation scene to save the day. Didn't realise until today that I've already completed a year and three months on Xbox Access through Telstra. Must say, it is the best programme for gaming I've ever seen and no real downside to the consumer. Wish Sony would do something similar.

What are the odds of MS going back and enabling more Xbox/Xbox 360 games for BC?

I'm not that confident :(

Still, from a console perspective it's the best we have by a distance that's not even funny. Sony and Nintendo are arse.

Highly unlikely. The one game I want to play again, JSRF, will likely never be released again. Just have do it through emulation

They really should remaster JSRF. Did it only come bundled with Sega GT at the time? I remember I picked it up from a gaming store second hand.

So many games from that time I would like to see released again but highly unlikely. JSRF was a launch title, I remember buying it at EB. The PAL version had a green back ground while the Japanese NTSC version (and assuming US version) had a red background. I know purists for the original JSR but I found JSRF so much more fun and the levels were huge. I just played an emulated copy and it was okay but it needs a remaster or at least a bump in resolution. Hoping Bomb Rush Cyberfunk and Neon Tail sparks some interest at Sega to remake it.
Neon Tail is pretty rough but have to hand it to the guy making it - think he is doing all on his own for the past few years. He's in dire need of better art direction. Bomb Rush is looking like the spiritual successor but the characters look generic - no one iconic like Beat, Gum or Professor K.

Doesn't pale though in comparison to my desire to see Skies of Arcadia remastered though. Loved that game.
