Seems a few of the achievements are broken. Was going for the explorer one driving on all roads, achievement unlocked when I reached 275/278 and after close examination it looks like all are driven on yet still stuck on 275. Similar thing with the bonus boards, had 2 left to find and the achievement unlocked but still managed to find the last 2. The one in the lake on the sinking castle is difficult but appears that come the dry season the lake with subside a bit revealing a jump that's submersed during the rainy season.

Horizon 4 did the same thing. I think they deliberately set the achievement to trigger a couple of roads shy of 100% to reduce frustration in case a bug has marked a road as explored but it hasn't registered. Either that, or Horizon 4 just had the same bug. I'm one road short :( . I've looked at online forums to see what the commonly missed or bugged final roads are but I already have them.

By the way, I beat your and Ace Vencloudy's time on the monthly rivals again last night. I really screwed up the final corner though so there's definitely opportunity to do better.

I'm finding some of the summer playlist things are triggering. I know I've run through 100 Cacti or whatever the number is. Plus I can't get the Forzathon shop to open, but that could be a PC issue.

Forzathon shop has been closed until today. It would have been nice for the error message to just say that of course.

Some of the playlist is definitely broken. I couldn't get some of the daily challenges to register, like the clean rivals lap or completing a showcase event. After some Googling I found that you had to trigger a showcase finish condition that you hadn't previously: i.e. if you already completed all the showcases then you had to come 2nd to trigger the playlist. How dumb.

I also reckon I ran over way more than 100 cacti but eventually triggered it after a concerted effort. I wonder if you have to do it in one sitting with one car.

By the way, I installed the patch (only a gig on Xbox) and it fixed my missing last road. There was now two grey segments on a dashed dirt road that I am absolutely adamant was not there before. On the minimap as I approached the road segment, the road was showing as explored (i.e. coloured in) so I reckon that the patch fixed the main map but not the minimap. Anyway, I drove over the road segment and got the notification of all roads found.

I had zero interest in Halo Infinite but saw the download was only 28gb so thought it was worth a look. Fuck me, how good is it? Looks amazing, sound is awesome, just the voice acting during training and rifle range is laughable, cringe worthy. Took me about an hour to get used to invert look again since I've been playing nothing but third person games for the last few years. This is the first time I've played any mp fps since Titanfall 2 in 2016 so I was pretty rusty. Anyway, had a wicked time, teamed up with Chaos for a few hours and loved every minute of it, which really surprised me.

When I beat Cloud the second time it took me 48 laps and then I noticed you were 0.200 ahead. Cloud then did 100 laps in order to knock off 0.500 of mine (0.300 faster than you). I had 3 attempts, 2x20 ish laps and 1x50. I managed to get 0.050 slower than yours but Cloud was still ahead of me by 0.350. I can be ahead right from the start of the lap till the last left hand hairpin and then you guys get a faster exit. It's always that last corner.

Anyway, Cloud is a dpad tapper and uses auto with all assists. 😅

Haven't had a chance to play much of it yet, but I am loving Forza.

Xbox has had such a brilliant run with racing games from PGR right through to Forza Horizon 5.

Haven't played much of Forza but damn, it is pretty. MS have easily taken the initiative this year. One of the best years in gaming since 2007.

Microsoft have released a 6-part 4 hour documentary about the Xbox on their YouTube channel. It feels like an independently produced documentary that you'd find on Netflix rather than a corporate advertisement, so it's surprising to see it on an official channel and it's well worth a watch. The first ep is here:

So I stumbled on a video that shows Retroarch running on the Series S with nooddong or warranty voiding. Basically installing the Dev Kit from the store and signing in with a dev account (one off payment of $19.99usd). Anyone tried this?

I haven't t0mby. I own a Super Console X Pro, so I have no reason to try that stuff. Although I think they're discontinuing the DEV mode program?

Outer Wilds is up on GamePass. Pretty happy to be able to give it a go.

Won $15 on a scratchie my sister got me for Christmas. Grabbed TimeSplitters 2 now that it's BC.

Game still holds up nearly 20 years later. It's criminal that this series has been in limbo since 2005.

Keen on Future Perfect now. Played the shit out of the OG TimeSplitters and TimeSplitters 2 back in the day, but by the time that came out I'd moved onto the 360.

I wonder if Time Splitters being BC had anything to do with the original Devs trying to reboot the series. They've made a few updates on FB for a while talking about it.

The thought did cross my mind but given the number of false starts we've had, I didn't want to jinx it

If a new one does come out, I hope they're able to keep to the spirit of the original with heaps of modes and characters straight out of the box, and nothing locked away as DLC :(

Probably because they have DLC out now, which if anyone finishes the game I'd say they would want the DLC. It makes sense.

BC sale on now. Both TimeSplitters 2 and 3 are less than $4.

Kinda annoyed I only recently bought 2 for $15, but have now picked up 3 too.
