The only way I WON'T buy a PS5 is if 1st-party games come to PC.

With that in mind, I won't be getting an XBOX SEX as I already have a better version.

Not feeling this new gen of hardware, I'm trying to get hyped but reality sets in and I realise life is too short to play sub 30fps games on controllers. Not seeing anything different this time around. 144hz + kbam 4 life.

My money is going towards the biggest and badest ampere/big navi card coming end of year and a new 2TB ssd for the PC.

Cooling solutions are going to be issues for both systems. Both are pushing the TDP up and into the realm of problems people will have with blocked/dusty intakes, choked airflow spots etc.

This is one aspect they haven't done yet with consoles, make the machines more user serviceable to clean fans/heatsinks and add dust filters. The more air you push, the more dust build up is a problem.

PS5 just has a tech demo that runs sub 1440p and 30fps. We already have confirmation AC Valhalla is 30fps. I listed FPSs in the series X thread and that's a more powerful console, situation won't be better on PS5. Sony exclusives all gen have targeted 30fps, I don't see that changing. With the power/clock throttling we'll see more frame time inconsistencies based on scene complexity.

30fps ftw. Both consoles support variable frame rates, all the way down to 16fps which is sometimes referred to as the silent movie era. Very cinematic and nauseating at the same time.
