It does have PC-specific features. It’s using Denuvo. It’s going to take advantage of those extra CPU cores! .

I doubt anyone will actually play the game. It will just be used for benchmarks from here to eternity

Re: PS4 exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn coming to PC!
Yeah saw all the benches, very disappointing performance.
If Sony want the PC sales, they need to do better than that.
I'm glad I held off preording it.

A GTX 1080Ti cannot run the game at 1080p/60fps. What the hell happened? After the great DS port, people were expecting the decima engine here to put in a good showing.Indeed, the pre-release build of HZD hits 60fps on my best machine... but this requires a considerable downgrade to somewhere around 60 percent of 4K, which can be toggled in an in-game menu. The game includes an automatic resolution-scaling system, which drops the pixel count in order to lock to your preferred frame rate of choice. When I leave the game at "high" settings (not maxed-out, graphically, but close to it), this automatic 60fps slider bumps the pixel count down to roughly 60 percent, as well. That result lines up with other resolution tests on the same system; 1440p, or roughly 44 percent of 4K, runs at 68fps on average with the same "high" settings preset.
I'm glad I held off preording it.

Hardcoded 30fps animations, seems like the game was never intended to be run at higher fps ever. Yikes.

Bummer. AMD’s just-released drivers advise support for the game so interested to see Radeon performance.

I bet there’s a lot of pissed off gamers who want refunds now, which I can understand because I wouldn’t want to play it on PC locked at 30fps with shit performance!

'Exploring' how to better handle 30fps animations after launch. Righto.

Found the benches. 5700xt the same as 2070 Super and 1080ti which are all around 50fps at 1080p. 2080 Super also fails to clear 1080p/60. Pass.

Kojima Productions ported it in-house. 505 was just the publisher. Guerrilla Games ported Horizon.

Re: PS4 exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn coming to PC!
My bad. I saw a heap of port related info come directly from them in the lead up to release and assumed they were hands on with the port.

I wasn’t sure myself, so I asked in the Era thread discussing Horizon and someone brought up Death Stranding. But yes, unless they can patch it up, this is a disaster and not what your want from Sony on PC.

Re: PS4 exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn coming to PC!
Also Death Stranding was announced for PC from the beginning, so they've probably been working on the PC build for a long time, Horizon seems to be a last minute decision to take advantage of the work done for Kojima.
I think it just needs more time in the oven, the performance scaling here is really weird and I saw some testers had noticed that PCIE 8x was showing a 20% drop in performance vs 16x. Which is odd and means the code is very chatty with the GPU over PCIE, something you don't see on other PC games.

This is disappointing, but I'll stick with the PS4 version as it will look like a million bucks on my new TV.
Hopefully it might be similar to Batman Arkham Knight where eventually it ran like butter on PC.

All I've seen are previews talking about uncapped frame rates and excellent performance :O

ACG says he gets more than 60fps at 1440p max settings on his 2080ti. That's before the launch patch. He also recommends it to buy. I'm interested again.

Maybe they'll use this a gauge to see if PC gamers bite and if it ends up bombing, they'll then declare that PS games don't have a market on PC.....

As lestat said it needs more time in the oven. Should all be fixable.
Having watched a lot of vision now I can’t say I’m a fan of the art style. The world and robo dinosaurs look good but the character models are very uncanny valley. The stereotypical outfits and face paint look like caveman fancy dress to me.

33 GPU benchmark at 1080p, 2k and 4k at both ultra and PS4 (medium) settings. Poor Vega.

Re: PS4 exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn coming to PC!
I just started playing this, and I'm loving it. I took my sweet time to do the introductory chapter, which is usually a good sign.
I'm getting all kinds of weird texture pop-in though, even in conversations. It's really weird.
