Alex Kidd In Miracle World DX (remake)

Post by unfnknblvbl »

I've been following this for a couple of years, but thought the developers had dropped it after they stopped mentioning it ages ago.

Looks great. I'm pretty sure Alex Kidd was the first Sega game I owned. I think I ultimately didn't really embrace the character, but the game was always a good one. I'm liking that the video shows the original levels well and truly embraced.

Me too. Got the Master System II and Golden Axe the same Christmas. Still regard that one as the best Christmas as a kid, one grandmother got me a kick arse Lego castle, and the other a 12-inch GI Joe.

Really was like all my Christmases came at once as we didn't have a lot of money back then. I didn't care that the Master System had been well and truly superseded by the Mega Drive, I got to play Golden Axe at home and in my ignorance I had no idea how inferior it was to other ports

Loved the Master System.
Currently playing: Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition (PC), Far Cry 4 (PC), FIFA 23 (Series X)

Played the MS2 to death, loved Alex Kidd. Took me ages to finish it but once I had it dialed in, no dramas. Day one purchase. Need more of these. I want Psycho Fox and Asterix.

Never like Alex the Kids, but then I was in the older demographic when that was popular.

Loved this game, didn’t play the others in the series however, but have very happy memories of this one as a kid. But I never could complete it..

No wonder they built this game in, it’s essential!

This and Wonder Boy were my first two games.

Both classics.

I've almost bought the Switch port of the original more than once but always shot the idea down as I've got new games I haven't finished yet... glad I held off, this looks choice.

The other Alex Kidd games were so hit and miss. Enchanted Castle is one of my personal biggest gaming disappointments coming off Miracle World. Hold the button to jump, release it to stick your leg out, now you can float slowly into things to attack? Whoever came up with the controls should have a foot awkwardly directed into their face.
