But can it run Crysis?

Yeah I’m sold. Interested to see how the api-agnostic raytracing goes on my 5700XT.

Wat, so it’s using the old engine and not the latest cryengine?

I know they added multi threaded support in Crysis 2.

Using latest, but still everything runs on a single thread. The core of the game hasn't been rewritten to be threaded.

Also they removed/nerfed a lot of the physics in the environment.

Also missing the VTOL mission, looks to be based on the old 360/PS3 console port.

But can it run Crysis?

This remaster for now is a disappointment. The DF analysis was pretty kind to it. This is a better direct comparison/tech review. The 30fps foilage disruption animations look terrible. Original still the king.

1.1 is out already and fixes a lot of areas of complaint eg: you can now lean.

Just in that preview image alone in the above video the 07 build looks better than the 20 build imo.

Latest update brings back the Ascension level omitted from the launch release among other performance improvements. Good to see them putting in the work. I've bought it.

yeah OK, I'm in too, now that it's the full game. Ascension should be a bit of a workout for any PC

Edit: There's some kind of crazy sale going on at the Epic store, so I snagged it for $12! Bargain!

Um. Something is very wrong with the sound design. Every time I land from a jump - even when cloaked on grass - it sounds like I've just landed on a pile of wooden crates.

I played the latest version tonight and it looks and runs great. Running DF optimised advanced options which has Objects, Shadows and Vegetation at Medium, everything else maxed at 'Can It Run Crysis' or Very High, whichever is the high option. Ray tracing is off. With this I get 70-90fps at all times and smooth loading/streaming from a mechanical drive install.

It feels like a remaster now. Adrenaline says I'm 95fps average and that's without DLSS. Unfnk you should see huge gains.
