I've had this one on my Steam Wishlist for a long time.
All major platforms September 10. Awesome.

I really need to catch up on this Gamescom content.

I looove Virtua Racing. There was nothing like it at the time but nowadays I don't know how I would go trying to pitch a racer where every screwup is the same fixed wipeout. It felt good to drive, but also not super free to drive at the same time.

So I can't imagine something new being "like" it in a way that actually succeeds. Either it's like Virtua Racing and would be awesome to those wanting that feel again (and no-one else), or it's not like VR and is just another low-poly racer.

I strongly imagine it's the latter. I doubt it would drive like VR and if it doesn't then for me there's no point.

I liked that in the video he wound things up along the lines of "Overall, a weekend wasn't enough for me to form an impression." Respect!

There's another game or that's very similar.. Retro Formula? It's quite good except for the awful crashes resulting in an explosion all the time

Was playing Virtua Racing on Switch again just the other night. LOVE VR, will buy this unless it's shit which it won't be.

I love those little musical ditties that play every time you go through the time gate. I want one of those for a ring tone. Currently have and have had a tune from 720 degrees for my ring tone for almost 3 years now.

Edit

Nevermind, just found them. Excite!

It's seriously the best handling F1 arcade game. I mean, have there been any F1 arcade games since VR?
No?
WHAT A COINCIDENCE! Everybody knew they couldn't compete.

What about that Indy 500 that Sega did?

Look, I liked it, but it didn't handle as well. I've spent a bunch of money in both arcade games, as well as hours in the emulators. VR just had an impossibly good handling model.
