Blue Dragon in the warehouse and shipping now.
Pics from JGAFers who have it and say it's a great old school JRPG.
I really cannot wait for this, hopefully it will be out by Xmas 07

Looks very good. I don't play many RPGs, but I might forsake FF12 for this.
I've avoided spoilered impressions but the unspoilered stuff just says it's EXTREMELY cliched jrpg fare and the characters act accordingly, hard to explain but I'm guessing if you've played a few JRPG's you can get my meaning.
You can pretty much tell how it's going to play out from start to finish, apparently (Impressions arn't facts ).
Not to say there's too much wrong with that in a JRPG, if the presentation is quality and the battle system is good then I can see myself enjoying it alot.
Also if you havn't started FF12 and have a copy all I can say is PLAY IT, RPG of the generation and there have been some real stunners, I've finished it twice and still can't get over how well developed all the characters/themes are and the AMAZING voice work that makes it feel like a high budget movie..
I admit I thought Square had lost it after their recent years (My only real joy being the Kingdom Hearts series, which is as cliche as games get but I love disney/ff so the mix was perfect for me, oh and crystal chronicles MP ruled) but FF12 really blew me away.
Don't forsake anything for it.
end OT discussion resume Blue Dragon anticipation.

The first time was my own playthrough which took quite a while (It's a very long game, I think it took me a few weeks and I wasn't playing much else at the time) the second time was more visiting a mate with my copy/ps2 so he could play it, but I gave him quite a bit of help since I knew alot about the game at that point and we finished it pretty quickly(Maybe a third of the time my first play through took or so).
It's also the first new RPG in about 6 years that my brother has played/finished, even his girlfriend really got into it and she has only ever played one RPG beforehand (FFTA on her GBA).
Probably for the best with FFX-2, I'm a bit of a completionist with RPG's (I refuse to even start my copy of disgaea 2 because I know it will suck my life away for about a month) but I felt compelled to stop playing that game half way through :/ I even wanted to play the end of FFX again to remember how good it is but I found my copy has gone missing since I moved to the gold coast, not happy at all about that.

SauceIn fact, there are two very large problems with the game. One, which Witzbold pointed out, is where the text is so small that you can't possibly read it if you are lacking a sizeable TV, which is a serious problem especially as the text is an important part of the RPG.

http://www.gameaxis.com/home/index.php?blog=1288" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Blue Dragon (Xbox 360) Gets Dated - 22nd May 2007
That's right, this blog header pretty much says it all! Xbox 360 owners in Singapore as well as other westernized countries can soon look forward to playing Sakaguchi's newest RPG masterpiece come May 22nd. We can all take this news as truly official, as one MS exec revealed to me that Blue Dragon have indeed gotten its release date pushed ahead of schedule. So rather than having to wait till August (as previously stated), 360 gamers can finally taste some sweet RPG love at last next month. And here's the sweetener: MS have listened to RPG fans' feedbacks and have stuck to Blue Dragon's native Japanese audio, but with 100% English texts/subtitles! Way to go Microsoft!
But that's not all, as I've also learned that the Americanized (read English translated) version of Square Enix's Wing-Commanderish sleeper-hit, Project Sylpheed, will also be hitting our local shore come June at about the same time as it arrives in the US of A. Fans of car racing should rejoice too, as Forza Motorsport 2 will hit retail some time at the end of May - a date is unconfirmed at this point of writing though. It looks like the Xbox 360 will have a pretty hot summer holiday now, and you've heard it here first at GameAxis.
