Grass and plants done well can act as great cover aswell if done right.

CoD2 has some problems with that where the LOD makes them dissapear at long range so you can spot someone easily and snipe them.

aah ok, I noticed it a lot in single player, not in multiplayer though... probably not watching the scenery too much though

The only difference I can really discern between the PS3 and 360 shots is that the PS3 has nicer looking depth effects for soliders and objects in the distance. If that is going to be the only difference between the platforms I am glad I saved some money and didnt wait.

multiplatform = lowest common denominator
i.e. no matter how much more powerful the xbox is over the ps2, multiplatform games ended up looking only a tiny bit better on xbox
expect the same this gen

oh and anyone who buys a wii to play games like this needs a sherbert fountain up their collective rectum

Yeah but that logic might be reversed this gen. The more powerful console (PS3 apparently) could also be the most popular. That never looked like happening last gen.
