Posted this at xboxworld, I know there's a few people interesed so I'll paste it here too.
Do the players still skate & float around like the PS2 version?
Edit: Bit the bullet and tried it for myself. It's definitely better than the PS2 version, the frame rate is much smoother and there's more detail on the players. I don't remember the depth of field on goalkicks either which is a nice touch. Load times are MUCH shorter too thank god. There's some stat overlays when they focus in on players during a dead ball too.
The players (especially on defense) still tend to float around too much, this game desperately needs a defensive strafe button like in Madden. The sidestep is still a weird animation that seems to make you slide over the field rather than step but it's not something you can abuse because you're just as likely to step into a tackler than away from him.
I still can't find a decent camera angle. "High" seems to be the best option so far but if you want a view of the width of the field you have to choose a side on option sadly. Jury is still out on the AI and if there's any obvious exploits.
Only one issue so far was with a weird interpretation of advantage - I knocked on near the sideline, the other side picked it up and staight away was tackled into touch. Yet I still got the scrum feed. I can understand how hard it must be to program in advantage so I'll let it slide
2006 rosters & jerseys too but they've been set early in the season (ie no Jarryd Hayne for Eels fans )
There's definitely more work been put into this one over the PS2 version and it shows. If you're expecting a Madden level of polish then you're going to be very disappointed, but considering the small developer and the massive expectations that come with the NRL licence it's a fine job.
Just a shame it's not 360 BC
It's only $70 too which is nice. League fans should check it out, but as I said if you're not expecting much you'll probably enjoy it for a while.
Not sure how long though, since the original got older faster than something Pat recommends.
No system link, 1-4 players on one box & online multiplayer.

It defintely plays on a modded box, just don't hit the Xbox live section Runs well off the hard drive too
I went seasoned, it's pretty challenging. You'll probably want to adjust break tackles/strip ball/offloads in the sliders though. On default theres too many broken tackles, no offloads and no strips.
Also Agility+50-00% is a good step to make your players respond a bit better on defense. It's still shocking but just less shocking
