The next evolution in FPS games (Prey meets Half Life 2)
Portal.
This is the game that is shipping with HL2: Episode 2, and was borne out of a tech demo that impressed the Valve people enough to hire the makers.
Imagine the basic portals in Prey, only more interactive - and bred with a counterpart to the gravity gun. You can fire (nominate) an exit portal and an entrance portal to help you progress through the levels.
I believe the video above is just a tech demo itself, not sure if its from the game engine itself - is it using Source? - I assume so.
Either way, this is something very cool.

I think it's going to a be a puzzle game showing off the technology, which will be used in Episode 3.
Also, posted in the other thread, a link to the 720p version of the trailer.

I remember ut2k had the teleporter gun, where you could fire a teleporter across the map and then alt fire to teleport where the teleporter had landed. It made ctf games real interesting, but to keep it fair you couldn't use the teleporter while carrying the flag. So if they restrict it like ut did it can work fine.
I think you could easily counter a portal attack without that restriction. Let's say team A fires a portal near your flag. If their exit portal lands on the ground, they will jump out of it after jumping in their entry portal. All you need to do is place an entry portal above their exit and they'll fall into that. Then place your exit portal somewhere inconvenient - like back at their base.
