Thanks to the Marketplace I no longer need the demo disc.I love it.I absolutely hated paying for the arsefuck opinions of Kevin Cheung and his dud writers who are all sided with Bald and now that we have the marketplace things are so much better.
I don't know if MS or Sony made anything out of the official mags but in the end,not spending that cash on the magazines is great. No more wondering WTF when it comes to their lame mag injokes, pandering to moronic letters and crap preschool artwork.
Sony should definitely copy this too.
Death to OAXM.

Indeed, I've never bought a console magazine after subbing to Edge. Think I've got another two years left on it, love it.Candy Arse wrote:Buy Edge. Also re-register at DH.
Oh yeah and the whole demo thing on the 360 is awesome, a lot of the reason I pirated my old consoles was for games I just wanted to see but not really play... with this, I don't have to bother, can download something like FNR3, play the demo, marvel at the graphics, and then I'm done with it and haven't wasted $120.
And for something like Burnout Revenge, I realise how awesome the game is, and actually buy it
Works out cheaper than buying it at the newsagent (air-freight anyway). Worth every cent, but I agree about MP, I only ever bought official mags for the demos, I cringe just thinking about the 'journalism' in them. Complete waste of money. Even the couple of PSP demos around are nice (Loco Roco and others I think).1 Year (13 issues) @ £72.00

Same, the market place/demo downloads is really one of the best things to hit consoles in a long while.mech wrote: Oh yeah and the whole demo thing on the 360 is awesome, a lot of the reason I pirated my old consoles was for games I just wanted to see but not really play... with this, I don't have to bother, can download something like FNR3, play the demo, marvel at the graphics, and then I'm done with it and haven't wasted $120.

Definitely. I've said it a lot with regards to things the 360 offers, but if Sony don't copy this they're retards!lestat wrote:Same, the market place/demo downloads is really one of the best things to hit consoles in a long while.mech wrote: Oh yeah and the whole demo thing on the 360 is awesome, a lot of the reason I pirated my old consoles was for games I just wanted to see but not really play... with this, I don't have to bother, can download something like FNR3, play the demo, marvel at the graphics, and then I'm done with it and haven't wasted $120.

I never been into game mags,I bought the quake bible once tho lol.
I love the MP,I already filled my hd with demo's and had to delete a whole lot.I gonna have to delete some more as i only got 2 gigs left again.
My internet here in NZ has a 10 gig cap and i never ever got close to the limit for like 2 years untill i got the 360.I been using 8-9 gig a month since i got the 360,mostly cause of the demo's.
