Good thing you posted the second round of pics. For a second I thought Namco were preparing a revolutionary new change to Ridge Racer by taking out all of the cars.
Ridge Walker: Revolution, it's got a nice ring to it.
I was just talking about miling franchises and how many GTA games there have been in the last few years. Atleast Namco had a huge break but yeah, I think that when RR6 came out it needed a complete overhaul. A racing game, sure, an arcade mode, sure, but it certainly needed something else to grab people by the balls.

RR7 for PS3 will be 100 bucks.
A PS3 +RR7 for $100?

That's what I was getting at but I understand your point that they are all going to own a PS3 anyway.
Oh and RR is designed to milk nearly every console launch. They don't milk the franchise as such rather they quickly knock out a new version to take advantage of punters looking for something to buy in the lean launch windows. Easy Money
I fired up RR6 on 360 today, definately looks no better. But RR6 is still a nice looking game, the textures and framerate are awesome. Usually a RR sucks me into buying a playstation console, it has for years, but that void has alread been filed.
Damn, I want your side-by-side comparisons lestat. Some pics here would be great. How about you put your pics of your XB360 running RR6 on your telly in one post, and then your pics of you PS3 running RR7 on your telly in the next post, eh?
