Gameplanets Review
Ups: Another fantastic story where your decisions matter. The option to bring along a save game from the first game that will alter the universe you play. A very personal experience. Far improved shooting and cover mechanics make combat fun. Very cool classes and powers to use. Great voice-acting and characters. One of the best looking games of this generation. A dialogue system that is still way ahead of the competition. Better constructed side missions and environments.

Downs: A lot of long loading screens. Instead of improving planet exploration, it has been removed taking away some of the previous games wonder. The scanning for minerals system is tedious, yet essential if you want to succeed in the final mission. No more loot to find, only the upgrade system. Having to watch the Normandy's fuel while exploring the galaxy is stupid and pointless. Still a few technical flaws and framerate issues during intense cutscenes.

9.0/10

Generally a week and a half with standard shipping. Got plenty to tide me over until then.

Yeah it's out today but I don't think I'll play it straight away. I feel like I have unfinished business with the first one and I'm not yet ready to switch.

I've got my standard edition copy here now, but I really want to finish Bayonetta on hard first.

Probably fire up ME2 on the weekend some time.

I only put 19 hours into me1... I might be more thorough this time around, given that useless Mako missions are gone. Not too sure about the probe & fuel thing though. Not that excited about it really, I want to gome home and play Forza, but i'm sure i'll get sucked into playing me2 all night :P

Sooooooooooooo much better then the first one which was underwhelming for me. Graphics and design have taken a massive shot in the arm, same with the play mechanics and voice acting.

I now own Mass Effect, the Mass Effect Preorder Disc, the Mass Effect 2 Collector's Edition and both novels (Revelation and Ascension). Some nice in-game extras with the Collector's Edition.

Yeah, I'm a fan :D

I'm going to finish reading Ascension before I get stuck into Mass Effect 2 as it is set between the two games
Currently playing: Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition (PC), Far Cry 6 (PC), FIFA 21 (Series X), TimeSplitters 2 (Series X BC)

Yeah, I'm like 4000xp from level 50 so I can't quit now. Plus, I don't REALLY remember the specifics of the ending. I'm sure I can go straight to the second game no probs but there was a lot that I missed out on in the first one simply because it ended much quicker than I realised.

I never liked the first Mass Effect, gave up on it after 2 hrs or so, I wanted to like it for the conversational style etc but could get past to me what was shitty arse combat controls.

With all the hype surrounding this sequel and so many comments of improved combat I bit the bullet and got this game today. I brought 3 ex rental games $15 each from Video Ezy and traded them at JB to get this game for a grand total of $45 with the full intention of trading it back to EB within a week for $97 credit (they have $85 trade value for a week + %15 for my edge card)

Anyway to my dismay I have just stopped playing after putting a solid 3 hour stretch into the game which is rare for me in any game other than a sports game, even my favorite games outside of sport I usually only play 1 maybe 2 hr sessions max.
I must say that I think this game is amazing. The combat is so much more refined than the last one, and its almost like a hybrid of FF and Gears of War.
The story is engrossing so far and I just want to keep finding out more.
2nd place is the first loser....
