PS3 Delayed until March 07 (Europe)

London, Wednesday 6 September 2006 – Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) today announced that it would revise the launch date of its PLAYSTATION® 3 computer entertainment system in the PAL territories of Europe, Russia, Middle East, Africa and Australasia from 17th November 2006, as previously announced to March 2007.

Launch dates for Japan and North America will remain the same, which are November 11th and November 17th respectively.

The revision of the launch date in the SCEE territories is caused by the delay in the mass production schedule of the blue laser diode within the Sony Group, thus affecting the timely procurement of key components to be utilised in PLAYSTATION 3.

what was the aust release date?

with the recent 360 soccer announcement i'd say the 360 will have a massive X-mas in PAL territories.

Hi guys, about time for my first post. I'm Joshby at 4BG & Amnion at PN. I chose Filth for here cos there seems like a lot of Live-ers here & this is my PC clan name. Seemed appropriate.

So PS3, personally this isn't to bad, I wanted to get one at launch but needed the funds for an overseas trip in December. March is perfect, I can save up again & it'll be right at the end of cricket season so I'll have plenty of time to play with it

Could possibly lead to a beefier launch line up as well.

Any desperates going to try and import one?

Aaaaaaaaahahaha, oh dear, not a massive shock but what dicks for thinking they could pull it off but then changing their minds so quickly.

The only positive I can take out of this is that there will be MUCH better launch titles to choose from with my Toys R Us deal!

Oh and I was going to be gone for a month right after it launched, so that's that problem solvered...

But still... I was hoping for a PS3 christmas. Ah well.

What about all the people who pre-ordered their PS3 ( the 10 ppl or so ) Screw waiting til next year for it, go get your money back. I bet pep's not pleased.And oh mech, could you please add some rage into post like your fellow PS3 fanboys? Stop being so positive!

I was thinking off getting a PS3 at launch, but as of now I'll be buying an X360.

worldwide launch now means it will eventually launch ALL OVER THE WORLD, just not necessarily all at once

so who will pick up the slack over xmas? ps2, wii, or 360?
i have a sinking feeling ps2 is going to keep on keeping on

I knew this was gonna happen as soon as i heard they hadn't even started manufacturing yet of the machines. Even with europe delayed there will be massive shortages in the states.

Japan: 100,000.
North America: 400,000.
