Some unbiased impressions so far -
No way in hell should the game be 30fps. The level of detail and the physics in use don't demand it.
Some annoying shit like players gliding over the grass rather than walking after a play has finished.
The vision cone seems worthless. I'm trying to figure out if I can have it start straight down the middle like I could with 06 Xbox.
Controlling your player no matter what position feels more like NFL2K than Madden.
No defensive Playmaker sucks.
No accel clock sucks.
I'm experimenting with some All-Madden sliders at the moment, if I can manage to extract the sort of gameplay I did with 06 I'll be as happy as a pig in shit. Because of that I'm loathe to make too many comments on AI.
Mario running is still there, but the running game *seems* to be decent so far, though we shall see. One thing Madden has had problems with over the years has been retarded run blocking on sweeps, and on any run with brainless fullbacks who miss obvious blocks on linebackers or safeties.
The highlight stick seems really well done. Juking seems a bit toned down which I approve of.
The playcalling method sucks massive balls. I'm adjusting to that as well as the controls. I'm used to pressing Y to make coverage changes so I've been called for a number of encroachments so far. I'll get the hang of it quickly enough though.
The controls for sending a man in motion is a little too complex for its own good. It was fine as it was.
The blocking controls seem really really good, and fun!
So far easily GOTY, but more unbiased impressions to come.
