Wii to have component connectivity... at a cost :(

Post by Talez »

Linkage
Included on the site, as spotted by consumer website GameSpot, is a Wii “Controller Glove” for $9.99, a “HD Premium Component Cable” for $59.99 and a “S-Video Premium AV Cable” for $39.99.
$60?!? FOR A COMPONENT CABLE?!?

This better be some sort of sick joke.

I think I paid 46.99 for my component GC cable, and it doesn't even have the audio outputs on it, just the video.

So that price seems reasonable... well, no, obviously it doesn't sound reasonable, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's what they charge.

Well that'll depend on whether or not the AU Wii supports S-video - the GC didn't.

As for the controller glove, I'm guessing it's a shell for the remote to turn it into a "normal" controller for use with "normal" games.

Either that, or some sort of protective case/pouch.

That's pretty exxy, but I suppose you can't really do much other than pay it, because I'm certainly not going to be playing in composite.
I'm still going to import the Wii, I just hope the power pack is external so I can replace the american one + stepdown converter with an ausssie one just for ease of use like the gammacoob.

I'll have a cry for a bit, and then pay it.
