I don't know about the 21 pixel thing, but from what I can remember, Fifa 06 had the blurry background in cut scenes. I'm sure those are all in game models/textures etc... Only thing is, like Fifa 06 - the self-shadowing you see there is turned off in the actual game. Much like Virtua Tennis and Top Spin.Talez wrote:I call bullshot based on the depth of field stuff for the crowd, the level of AA and AF in the images aren't consistent with the Xbox 360 and the images are 21 pixels too high.Jizzy McLobber wrote:edit- why are they so unbelievable talez?
Should be out Oct/Nov.

Yeah they're touched up with 16xAA, but graphically just looks a little better than world cup 06.
Looks nice, i passed on world cup because it lacked league teams, so i'm keen on picking up fifa.
And talez there isn't any bullshit AF going on, i can see bluring in the textures at angles. What you're probably liking is the grass shader which does some cool shit on top of grass texture.

Well at least bullshot confirmed.lestat wrote:Yeah they're touched up with 16xAA, but graphically just looks a little better than world cup 06.
Why the fuck does anyone ever believe a screenshot coming out of EA anymore?
Rather, why does EA keep doing it? It just reaffirms the stereotype that EA is the joke of the industry.

Talez about 90% of the screenshots we see are bullshots, ie touched/cleaned up with stupid levels of AA.
Why does sony keep trying to pass CG as in game graphics? They keep doing it cause no one has sued their arses for misrepresentation.
It's not just games, you look at fashion magazines, a stupid amount of touching up goes on. Same with movies etc.

Now having played the full Madden 07, I don't think these are the colossal bullshots Talez may want to believe. When you choose to view a replay in Madden and you can control the camera angle you can set up some pretty fucking impressive shots that match the non-gameplay shots released in the leadup to the game's completion.
A problem with sports games is that the requirement of the camera being zoomed out a bit means you lose a lot of detail that is readily apparent up close.
Personally I think Sony are easily the worst offenders when it comes to overall bullshit.
