LCD Monitor resolution queries

G'day kids I was going to get a viewsonic 20" widescreen monitor with a native resolution of 1680x1050, but since my tax return was rather smaller than I had thought it was going to be I'm considering a 19" viewsonic monitor with a native resolution of 1440 x 900. After reading reviews they say a problem is some games just don't support that resolution, and since i'm getting my 360 this weekend (for certain this time) I want to know if this will be a problem as it's a major reason why I'm getting a new monitor.

For informations sake, I was going to get:

Viewsonic VX2025WM 20 inch 8ms LCD 1680X1050 DVI 800:1

but am now looking at getting:

ViewSonic VA1912WB 19inch Black WideScreen LCD 8ms 1440X900 DVI Spks 600:1

it's $184 cheaper.

Please help me techies! Thanks.

The monitor should scale from 720 lines of input to whatever res it supports.

what settings should he choose in the 360 dash though?

I'm guessing VGA and 720p?

Maybe 1280x768 if the monitor fucks up the aspect ratio? (Being the closest to 1.6:1)
