Well looking a lot better than it did a month ago.
Heres the full run down on the TGS Build:
New infos:
- they are still targeting a Japan release at the end of 2006
- they are working on FM2 since 2 years now
- the preview version shown to the press is based on a 60% finished version( devs are currently working on optimization, lightning, etc..)
- the preview version features 10 cars to select
- Tsukuba Curcuit in the preview version runs at 30fps but they confirm the final game will have 60fps
- 15 % more tuning/customization options for the cars compared to FM1
- the Corvette Z06 shown in the pics is build up of 40.000 polygons
- BMW is one of the new carmakers in the lineup
- Xbox Live modes are already fully integrated
- new cars and tracks are planned to be available for download every 6 months
- there is a not yet announced mode that will be revealed near the games release in 1 or 2 months
Im all for Forza 2, but ffs how about showing some screenshots from actual various driving views that we will be driving with. Or are they hiding something?
The motion blur looks photoshopped to me. In the first pic you can see bits of the car are blurred on the right, and on the far left of the pic, even the black border has been blurred.
Looks like they masked the car out of a solid pic and blurred the rest.
A cars exterior is made of gloss paint that is very plastic/glass like in reflectivity. I can see the realistic lighting model they're trying to achieve. If anything the only problem I think is it's a bit overdone, if they tone it down a bit it would probably look better.
Looks good to me. The blur is photoshop, and I suspect the jaggies may be a result of the non-standard resolution of the images. At 60fps this game should be sweet as. No cockpit view is a shame though.
