My brother got a call today about his PS3 pre order at EB informing him about the delay, but at the same time they ifnormed him about a new deal they could offer.
Buy an XBox 360 now for like $600 (he wasn't sure if it was $600 or $650) and get 2 free games, then when the PS3 is released they will buy back the console from you (not the games) for $400, if you can part with it.
Pretty interesting deal and I have no idea if it was specific to the EB we go to as a special thing or not, but I can't imagine many PS3 fanboys parting ways with an X360 if they had it for like 5 months (especialy over christmas with all the huge titles coming out).
So effectively you're paying $200 to rent a 360 for next 5-6months. Depending on the games that might seem like a good deal. Sounds more like a ms sponsored promo to me, to convert frustrated playstation fanboys.
It's $650, Games Wizards are doing it too but I don't think you get the free games, or maybe just one. Basically they're renting 360's for $250. It's got something for everyone but Sony
they are cheapish these days.
so would microsoft be behind this? are they doing it worldwide?
it's a decent idea, but the games are a bit sucky, you need to imoress the oants off these people before they think about getting that PS3.
