Crackdown just keeps getting better.

When i first saw this game it was a bit meh. But the latest TGS footages looks great. Apparently the game runs at 60fps now. Just check out the video. Still got a couple months of dev time left but certainly promising.

I never knew ms published ps3 games. ;)

At least mech you can enjoy it upscaled at 1080p while you're waiting for your ps3 to arrive in march. :)

Apparently this game is out next month. 15/10/2006 release date. We need a demo god damn it.

I think you're thinking of Army of Two mech? Apparently they're aiming for 1080p. But now 360 has support for it if developers really are designing games for 1080p, we should see the 360 versions having the same option too.

pilon: Riiiight...

anyway, I cannot for the life of me find the post where I read some shit like that, the only page I could find listing the 6 titles with 1080p support so far was in german and none of the titles are vaguely similar to Crackdown's name so no fucking idea what's going on there. Ah well.

Hopefully this game turns out better than Saint's Row, I am absolutely HANGING for a proper next-gen GTA style title.

lestat: Nah... no idea what I read, if I find it again I'll be sure to let you guys know ;)

On VT3, it seems the ps3 version won't have online play and cutscenes/replays are 30fps.

360 will have online play but it was no where to be seen on the floor so no idea on framerate/res for it. I would think with the recent 1080p announcement sega might be reworking it for 1080p who knows.

There was a thread on GA about it today.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=120941" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Basically sega hasn't received the network libraries in time so they've canned the online part.

360 version was last seen at 720p. If the game is using AA/tiling they could bump it to 1080p without to much hassle. If it isn't using tiling then 1080p would be out of the question this late. We'll see maybe X06 will shed some more light.

Interesting read that thread too, it appears the ps3 online network is really just access to 3rd party online matchmaking systems. So looks like we can't expect the same sort of consistancy in online gaming that we see on the 360.

What's the problem with cutscenes and (slowmotion) replays being at 30 fps?

The problem is lestat has turned into a 60fps whore this generation because it looks like Microsoft might have the 60fps edge.

What's ironic is all the hate Xbox 360 got for 30fps games from Sony fanboys... who are now fine with it since they are getting 1080p instead in some/most games.

I'm just glad to be able to say i've always been fine with 30fps games if they're at a consistant framerate. Although if i had a choice between 60fps and 1080p.

60fps > 1080p. Atleast the majority of TV's will notice the improvements made by 60fps

To the average Joe 1080p means jackshit..even 720! Most ppl don't even know the difference let alone getting the xbox360 or ps3 hooked up via component or vga. Take for example a friend of mine who has a 36 inch Samsung lcd panel with his 360 hooked up via composite.

I can recall lots of friends all with hd compatible TV's running composite either through there dvd player or foxtel.

If you ask me Microsoft and Sony are wasting there time this gen trying to 1up each other on 1080p given that there arnt many 1080p compatable Panals atm.

MS don't have the edge, a lot of 360 games are 30fps. I have always wanted 60fps. I want to see as many 60fps games as possible. Nothing has changed in regards to that.

Coming into this gen i saw a disturbing trend where a lot of games were targeting 30fps, this whole 1080p thing just makes it even harder for devs to hit 60fps. It's been discussed numerous times on this forum that 60fps is king. If given the choice a true gamer would take 60fps anyday.

Just because most people are plebs doesn't mean we are and doesn't mean they won't get a positive buzz for having the "best" out there, regardless of how people use it. I cannot wait to play some games in 1920x1080 personally. I've played some on my PC at that res and they look freaking amazing :)
