Ok so I got Arcade Edition for PC over the weekend and I refuse to play with the 360 pad, utterly useless.

Would you guys recommend this? Not the best arcade stick I presume, but I'm a beginner so something basic will suit.

Also should I upgrade to the sanwa stick?

I picked up AE for 360 a few weeks back from Play Asia, and catching some of the Evo Fever on the weekend decided to have a bash.

I've had a Hori EX2 for a while, but this is the first time I've played since moving. I don't have a reliable surface to put it on now, and I'm find the thing shifts around a lot while I'm playing (which could be due to me spazzing out, w/e).

Stick/button quality issues aside, do the larger sticks shift about less? Or do I just have to learn not to flail like a n00b?

Jahooley, Yea that stick doesn't look so bad from http://www.ozstick.com.au/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Find out if it has sanwa OBSF-30 buttons; that is far more important than having a sanwa joystick.

Ebe, a larger stick will sort you out. Even on a nice surface with suction pads the HORI EX2 flys around the place. A more heay duty stick with some arcade parts will make a HUGE improvement.

They are standard buttons. Not gonna go with ozstick... the guy has pretty much ceased ordering the parts to build those sticks and he hasn't got the colours I want left over so think I'll just go with the Hori EX2 to begin with. Cheers for the help

Jahooley,

don't bother with the ozstick or an ex2. EX2 is just a waste of money i've got 3 of them and they ALL shit out. i got them mostly for modding but even than they are not worth bothering with

depending on how much you want to spend you might want to look into these sticks. [all come with 100% total sanwa parts out of box]

129.99 USD
Hori Real Arcade Pro V3 SA (Supports PS3 and PC): " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... PDKIKX0DER

139.99USD
Hori Real Arcade Pro VX SA (Supports 360 and PC): http://www.amazon.com/Real-Arcade-Pro-V" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... 31&sr=1-34

$129.99USD
Madcatz BlazBlue Tournament Limited Edition (Supports 360 and PC): " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... PDKIKX0DER

$129.90 USD
Qanba Q4 (Supports PS3, 360, and PC all in one): http://www.play-asia.com/Qanba_Real_Arc" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... -482w.html

Amazon have the best shipping prices..so keep that in mind when calculating total costs

Priority International Courier (averages 2-5 days) is like under $25AUD

Expedited International Shipping (averages 8-16 business days) is like under $15AUD

ive played on the Q4 many times now..and i have to say i came away very very impressed by the build quality which is solid as fuck. it has all sanwa buttons and joystick and feels great to play on be it on a table or your lap (thanks to a very nice velvet covering on the back) easily up their with all the other "elite" sticks on the market with the clear cut advantage of working on ps3 360 and PC...

a worthy investment for sure :sf4:

also if you want to print and place your own art on it since play-asia also sell the Q4 replacement plexi cover

Hey there people who know tonnes more about arcade sticks than me, what's the go with the Venom Arcade PS3/4 Fighting Stick?

So far I'm liking the PS3/4 compatibility and colour scheme. The product description at various vendors does not mention who makes the parts. Is it secretly a piece of shit?

unfortunately for yourself the reports in that thread aren't sounding positive. You can mod it, but I'd be guessing something a bit more solid and quality to come out once some decent fighters hit ps4.

Hmmm, might pass in that case. It looks nice, but I wouldn't be looking to change any parts. The R.A.P. V Hayabusa that was recommended in that thread looks pretty boss, I'd be looking to get two though and amiami only ship one per customer. Doubling up on postage probably isn't going to work out too well for the ol' wallet.

Thanks for the linkage, it's something to keep in mind.

Resurrecting an old thread, I picked up 2 madcatz wwe brawlsticks on the cheap for $25 each about 12 months ago from gamesmen. Reading online these were great sticks to mod.

So I finally got around to modding one of them, the stock sticks are pretty awful, terrible deadzones in the corners. So I replaced the stick with a sanwa jlf and put a carbon fibre wrap on the faceplate. Pretty happy with the results, replacing the stick was easy but removing the old faceplate decal was a pain.

Here she is.

Not sure what I'll do with the other one yet.

Nice. I was thinking of pulling my two Hori EX SE sticks out to have a go at some fighting games. Glad they are just old fashioned USB controllers on them. Nil future proofing issues
