10 games you want most on XBLA?

Post by Candy Arse »

That's ten separate games, not "All SF games" or some shit. :P

SF3 Third Strike - don't like my chances due to the 50MB limit. SF2 is still very enjoyable, but anyone who has put some decent time into SF3 knows that it smacks the shit out of SF2.

Speedball 2 - perfect XBLA fodder and would be a multiplayer favourite. One-on-one would be fun, but allowing 2v2 or 3v3 would own.

King of Fighters 98 - any KOF would be good, but 98 is my favourite of the SNK (not SNKP) KOFs.

Daytona USA - like SF3 I'm unsure regarding the size limitation, but surely a heavily compressed soundtrack would help things. Bare minimum 8 per race, it would be unstoppable. The entrance to the tunnel on the second track would be the ultimate wall-fuck zone.

Road Rash - doubtful I'd need to elaborate.

Super Baseball 2020 - or Baseball Stars 2 depending on if you prefer robots or humans. Either game would be insane fun on Arcade.

Duke Nukem 3D - Doom is still very fun, but for mine Duke was even better. Head into a strip club in coop mode - SHAKE IT BABY!

Vendetta - 4 player for this would be off the hook awesome. Really, any of the classic scrolling BEUs would suffice.

Mutant League Football - kill the ref!

Killer Instinct - MS owns Rare, Rare owns KI. This needs to happen.

As a side note, I'll be buying MK3 when it's up, but I'd have preferred MK2. The problem I always had with 3 was having to memorise all those dial-a-combos.

Battletoads - not sure if Rare owns it or Tradewest, but the Battletoads games have always rocked. I dont care if they put the original NES version or the Arcade edition released in 1994 in conjunction with EA. Co-op has always been there and just think it would be such an awesome addition to Xbox Live arcade.

The above x 10

I can't come up with 10 so I'll just give you 5. Huh? Get fucked.

Projectyle - as I've stated many times, I'd prefer this to Speedball.

Todd's Adventures in Slimeworld - also stated many times. 4 player co-op with goo!

Worms - obviously. And none of that 3D crap, just old fashioned Worms.

Golden Axe - or something similar, but with improved graphics FFS! They need to put some effort into updated versions of such games rather than doing a brainless port.

OMEGA - or something similar. A program-em-up kinda thing with a bit of collection.

...

Extra bonus one:

Diablo - pushing it a little here, but the original Diablo would be nice with 4 player co-op. I'll let them charge a little extra for that one.

...

Extra limited edition faceplate bonus one:

Carrier Command - but with teams, so for example 4 vs 4 each with their own carrier equipped with MANTAs and WALRUSes taking over islands in the archipelago and having the odd direct battle using laser cannon and missiles. Maybe add some extra vehicles and weapons.

Sonic 2 vs mode. Separation Anxiety and X-MEN co-op side-scroller from the MD.

I don't know what's on there, seeing as I don't have a 360, but TMNT - the arcade game would rock pretty hard

TMNT - Arcade. Would be awesome as a four player co-op game... must be playable over XBLA.

Either Micro Machines from the MD or Death Rally from PC. Both superb simplistic racing games, DR being a huge favourite for being able to blast the shit out of each other, and also developed by Remedy (so there's a slight chance they could re-release it).

Raiden 2. Not so much for multiplayer, but for the fact that it's virtually impossible to find a decent version of it for home play :(

Hyper Olympics. All this needs is basic XBL multiplayer support and high-score tables to equal awesome drunk fun!

Alien vs. Predator (the Capcom arcade game). Could be kickass online... can't remember whether it was two or three player though.

Outrun needs to make an appearance on XBLA. Especially after there were no scoreboards for the original version within Outrun 2.

I would love to see Lemmings, although of course it can't happen now. 2 player Lemmings on the Mega Drive was frustratingly good fun.

Micro Machines would be excellent. I don't know how many people actually overcame the practicalities of having eight player games on the Megadrive version, but doing it effortlessly online would be perfect. MM is pretty much where wall-fucking started.

And Worms would be good too, as everyone else has already pointed out and I'm just wasting my time typing this and your time reading it.

Or everyone nudging each other off that sponge... or vying for that perfect line on the ruler... bring that shit on, Codies! Just don't make it 3D.

Actually... if we can't have Micro Machines, can we have Ignition?
